Good luck all- we’ve just woken up in the premier inn near school. Dd2 dreamed she got 2s in science and we were ‘really unreasonable’ about it.

we can see them online at 830 apparently. I feel sick, no matter her.

I know what you mean about feeling sick, I just had a cup of tea now I wish I hadn’t! We are going into school for 9am, he wants to open them there with friends and teachers on hand for support.

Good luck everyone!!

DanglingMod · 21/08/2025 07:24

Please be reassured that even if your child's school is one of the ones that only photographs and celebrates the "slew of 8/9" kids (they aren't all like that; mine certainly isn't), your child's individual teachers will definitely be rooting most for the hard workers, the kind kids, the polite kids, the ones who found everything hard but gave it a go and even the rude little twerps who show oodles of spark (as long as they are occasionally polite to us!) That's all.

Good luck to everyone

ImpracticalMagic · 21/08/2025 07:27

Anybody else's DC not up yet? Dd1's results are arriving from two different places via email, as she did some external exams & some at college. She's still in bed, but I've been up for an hour.

Tolkienwasright · 21/08/2025 07:28

Good luck all.

Oblomov25 · 21/08/2025 07:30

Good luck everyone!

icanbewhatiwant · 21/08/2025 07:31

@Fightingdragonswithyou yes a dc working really hard might mean they were predicted 4’s and on results day get 7’s. Or even graded a U and pull 3’s. Ds has been helping a friend from primary school. He needs a 5 in maths. Ds absolutely understands that for this lad a 5 will mean the world. Ds is aiming much higher buy I am glad Ds understands we aren’t all mathematicians (or whatever other subject some excel at)

I am passing the time with a long dog walk. We need to leave 8.45am. Over an hour yet. Ds was in bed when I left. I’m assuming asleep.

Nost · 21/08/2025 07:38

Been up since 3am. Child is still peacefully sleeping. At this rate I’ll log on at 8 and find out myself!!

peanutcookie · 21/08/2025 07:40

I had breakfast and now I feel so sick. DS still not up but he doesn't need to leave until 8:45. I wanted to give him a hug before I left but I'll let him sleep.

I'll be over the moon if some of my students get 4 just as I'll be over the moon with those that get 7+. They're all different. Whoever said that for their dc a 4 is like a 9 is absolutely right and should rightly be celebrated

swampwitch0 · 21/08/2025 06:36

@Sisublondie
I'm thinking of getting a dog...I had them growing up 😊
I'm very tired. At least its not too warm here today

Nooooo as to tired! But, yay! As to not too warm! I’ve grabbed a jumper to take.. just in case…! Looks like it could rain, too!

You absolutely should get a dog! I never had one growing up, that’s so great you did! I bet you had a “ proper dog” like a Lab or a Working Cocker! Well, mine will start howling shortly, when we all leave!

🍀!! x

coffeerevelsrule · 21/08/2025 07:44

I'm another teacher and parent of Y11 having a nerve-wracking morning. I have 15 minutes until I can see the results from my school, which will take my mind off ds - we need to set off at 8.30 to get his results.

Both my class and ds are quite unpredictable in many ways and I feel sick!

MackenCheese · 21/08/2025 07:46

MrsTWH · 21/08/2025 06:40

I’ve been up since 6am as well, thought I’d check to see if any other parents were also suffering with nerves!

my DS has had a rocky road in secondary school, getting an ASD diagnosis and having to change school in the middle of Year 10 due to bullying. He’s worked his socks off (mostly…!) but considering where we were at Christmas of Year 10 with school refusal and suicidal thoughts, I am as proud of him as I could possibly be already today. He is hoping for all 7-9s but I’d be thrilled if he just got what he needed for his A Levels. 🤞🤞

He won’t let me come with him at 9:30, he wants to walk in and open his envelope alone. But the results also go to his school email at 8:30 so he is torturing me. I might have to sneaky peak on his laptop when he leaves the house, is that bad??

Good luck everyone!! 🍀

Same story here. Dd changed schools in year 9, dropped out for the entire year 10, but she worked hard in year 11. Also got an ASD diagnosis in year 10.. I'll be super proud of any passes she gets!

Good luck to everyone!

Yodeldodeldo · 21/08/2025 07:46

They've all had their own challenges to overcome and they all had to overcome the disrupted year 6 and 7.

Think I'll cry if she does well and I will cry if she's disappointed.

I'm so proud of her

justteanbiscuits · 21/08/2025 07:47

Our school don't do the "here is the person with 42 grade 11's" photos. They will share photos of some of them but not grade dependent or anything. It's an incredibly supportive, inclusive school. Just waiting for him to finish doing his hair and we'll be going 😁😁

whojamaflip · 21/08/2025 07:50

Cattle are in and waiting for the vet - no obvious lumps so fingers crossed we go clear. Had a herd breakdown in June so this is the first of our 60 day tests on the road back to tb free status 🙏

dd now in the shower so I’m having another coffee to try and pass the time. She was less than impressed being hauled out of bed at 6.15 but has thawed somewhat and is now talking to us at least!

no idea what her results will be - she’s capable of 7s but is ND (undiagnosed as she refused to be assessed but ticks many many boxes). Mocks last year ranged from 4s to 9s so it’s anyone’s guess.

she is still pissed off that she had a migraine during her Macbeth paper as she says English lit is her best subject and she wants to do it for a level. Art she has written off as she got bored of her coursework and absolutely refused to finish it 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Poisoningpigeons · 21/08/2025 07:52

10 minutes to go for the online results here! DDs are awake but DD1 is hiding in the bathroom.

Until 10pm last night DDs were adamant they didn't want to go into school. Then just as we were getting ready for bed: "Everybody is going in!" I said we could go in too, but after a lot of angsty discussion they've decided to check results online and then if they feel up to it, to go in.

80smercedes · 21/08/2025 07:53

Good morning all, I just wanted to say thankyou for keeping me company on this bumpy road! This is my first time posting but I have read the threads voraciously over the last few weeks and it’s made me feel less alone.

My daughter (ASD) has struggled hugely over the last 5 years with school refusal and anxiety, but is now settled and happy at an amazing special school that has given her much needed confidence and hope for the future. I just pray that her results today reflect all her hard work. She is aiming for 5/6s, and we have everything crossed for a 4 in maths!!

Good luck to all your young people today!

SuperTrooper1111 · 21/08/2025 07:55

Mine's still asleep and I have strict instructions not to wake her until 8.10 at the earliest. She'll be too nervous to eat breakfast so wants to just roll out of bed and go.

I am going to try to get some toast down me or I'll feel even more sick on the drive to school!

Just over an hour to go, gah!

Isabella40 · 21/08/2025 07:55

Sisublondie · 20/08/2025 22:05

Hi, yes, me. DS is ASD/ ADHD ( AuDHD), has had bullying through this whole education and we are hoping and praying for 4 Grade 4 ‘s for him to go to college to do Level 3 BTec…. It will be close. I guess you are similar?

How is your DC feeling tonight? Sending you a big 🤗 for 🍀.

So hard for them. We’ve had bullying too. We are fairly calm this morning she wobbled a bit last night. We are hoping just some numbers on a piece of paper. 4s would be a miracle. We will celebrate no matter what as we have the next steps of education already sorted.

He didn't go to sleep until after 5am im letting him rest a little

swampwitch0 · 21/08/2025 07:57

Dd has just wandered in amd informed me one of her friends has thrown up twice due to nerves.
These poor kids :(
I don't remember feeling anything like that level of pressure

GirlsInGreen · 21/08/2025 07:59

Good luck everyone! Was here last year - nerves shattered. 🙏

Saeurcat · 21/08/2025 07:59

Checking in.
DC academically able but found revision a struggle so feeling apprehensive! But we live in a city so there are lots of options available either way.

swampwitch0 · 21/08/2025 07:59

Very best of luck to all dcs today 🍀
