Dd has told me she is "hoping for 9s" in drama and art...
Which is what she was predicted but both are externally moderated so 🤷‍♀️
I hope she's not too disappointed if she doesn't get 9s.
Oh, and maths paper 2 was "awful" and she's worried 😟
It's odd to think that the schools will have the results tomorrow!

Dds also just told me that even teachers aren't allowed in the hall when pupils pick their results up?
Surely not?...

@Sisublondie you poor poor thing- that sounds horribly painful- I would definitely have lost any breeziness with pre gcse kids by this point if I was in that much pain! You are a hero.

dd2 currently getting through it the only way she knows how… lots of music. Hilariously today this has included recording and submitting a grade 5 piano exam. Dd2 does not really play the piano and she does not have lessons, but last summer she decided to teach herself and took grade 3. This year she’s gone for five. I’m hoping she’s done enough to pass - it certainly sounds better than grade 3 did. Anyhow, she’s given us yet another exam result to wait for. Crazy child!

Thank you! 🙏… I think a cheeky nap ( 💤 I hope you got yours yesterday!) with one of the 🐩 is in order, as it’s my Birthday tomorrow and DS18’s on Thursday/Big Day, so I’ll be getting ready for his birthday on mine, like I’ve done for past, ummm, since 2006! I’m going to try to sneak up for a bit, a bit later! Get rid of a bit of sleep debt! Good plan- 🙏🥳

Then mooched around in the garden
Then did face masks tragically I do not look rejuvenated in the slightest!
Then we went to our very nice local deli for treats 😋
So, not much really. She didn't want to go for breakfast, or to the cinema so it's been very chilled out 😊

Ahhhhhhh!! Sounds like my idea of perfection!!!! Deli sounds great! ( tho! When I took my Mum away couple of weeks ago for her Big Birthday Spa 🧖‍♀️ weekend, there was a Gail’s……. Oh Dear Lord. I hope my local town doesn’t get one, but saying that, it’s in the town DS is starting college in September, so I just have to promise myself not to go in! I don’t need gorgeous ginger drinks in cool cans, or rose and whatever teeny cakes for £50! …. Or….. do I …….🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😈😹?! )…..

DS18 has taken day off his summer job and apparently DH booked lunch. as DS18 has decided to do the Otley Run pub thing on Thursday as his good mate has got keys to his Year 2 Uni flat.. that won’t get messy as there are a few going… 😈🙄🥳!, so we are doing joint birthday thing! 🥳… ummmmm, DH is convinced DS16 can be persuaded off his computer to come, but I remain unconvinced ! And! No one will be worried about the next day- much!!! 😣

I have been given strict instructions by DS not to mention anything / discuss anything related in any way shape or form remotely related to results from midnight tonight till 7:50am Thursday morning when we leave for school to get results. Going to bed early so I don't bug DS till midnight.

today has been really really slow, I have an appointment tomorrow so hopefully tomorrow will go quicker! but feels like Thursday is days and days away.

2 more sleeps / non sleeps. I will sleep though I am exhausted from the nerves.

I think nerves are kicking in here...
Dd came into my bedroom a few minutes ago and said "its less than 40 hours til results" then turned on her heel and walked out.
I was about to go and see if she was ok when she came back in, looking stressed, and said "what am I going to wear!?"

When results are mentioned my ds keeps saying how well he thinks he has done and I keep mentioning how low the entry requirements are for his chosen sixth form! I just want it over and done with now.

I asked DS tonight about what he wanted/expected and what grades would be disappointing (so I can be prepared). Initially he declared that he wanted 7-9s in everything. Then said… actually… I’d like one 6. Apparently that means he won’t have to walk across the stage at speech day in October. The kind of a teen is weird 🤣🤪

Minimum chat here about results as well. Think me and her dad are currently more nervous than DD – she's been filling her days seeing friends and doing art. Cannot wait for Thursday morning to be over so at least then we can plan accordingly.

DD is back home tomorrow afternoon. I’m meeting her at the station: it will be just like The Railway Children, ahem.

I think I am currently more anxious than DS is! He’s fortunate that there shouldn’t be any issue getting the grades he needs, but I don’t want him to feel disappointed if any of them aren’t what he expected.

We can only get his results in person, and are going at 8.30 as that’s the earliest and he’d rather know. I’m not looking forward to sitting in the car waiting

I have not felt antsy at all right up until now, and now, now I am worried. I don’t think there is reason to be worried about passes (with the notable outlier of art which is very definitely a possible 3) but just I don’t want him to be disappointed. And really I just want it over. I find the whole celebratory feel of the school comms is hard to grasp - what if you have really crap grades? It’s not a celebration then. I mean, ours don’t have the hideous sounding Photo Booth but from last year’s photos they do a whole lot of balloon arch type things…hey ho

It’s been weird here because dd is away so I keep forgetting about it altogether and then remembering and getting butterflies. I think it will feel more real when I pick dd up tonight.

DDs results will be online, although school have said that people can go in if they want, either to celebrate or commiserate as appropriate. We asked DDs and they both said "no" to going in. No obvious signs of nervousness so far, although DH and I did note that in the past few days they've been more, um, sassy than usual.

There are 2 posts on Facebook this morning with people saying their dc’s gcse grade and asking if they should still do chosen A levels. How do they know already? Unless they mean another exam that is gcse equivalent.
Also…do the teachers know the results beforehand like for A levels? Or do they see them on the day too?

The exams officer and senior team will get them today. I'll be able to log on in the morning when I wake up so I'll know before the students - which also means I'll have done some basic analysis before I go in.

DS seems fairly calm about results day. Meanwhile I had an anxiety dream about it last night!

Were they English? Cambridge iGCSE English language and literature can out yesterday.
