Hi all

It doesn’t look as though one of these threads has been set up yet so I thought I’d do it.

I have a daughter going into year 6 and a son going into year 8 next month - both will be moving to senior school in 2025.

Hello everyone - my DD also found the LU maths tough..

Does anyone know when G&L let us know if through to interview? Before or after Christmas?

Heidi245 · 04/12/2024 20:21

Question re Latymer: are the morning slot and afternoon slot papers the same? Or do they change them? Wondering if the maths paper in particular was the same for the morning and afternoon sessions.

Wlondon14 · 04/12/2024 20:31

@Heidi245 the same and also the same paper for kids who were ill today who will make it up over the next few days.

Papers were different in the morning and afternoon. I am not sure on the maths but the English was completely different

I am sure they change them, otherwise too much of a chance information could be shared. When speaking to a friend we know the CW was different....did not ask details about math or English comp...but I suspect all different.

Last year we sat Consortium in the last few days of November from memory and G&L didn't email till 5 January with interview invites

Dallasdays · 04/12/2024 21:25

Thanks @Vestibular

W4mamabear · 04/12/2024 21:27

11th December for first round results for Putney last year! So hopefully first round results will be early next week fingers crossed

Wlondon14 · 04/12/2024 21:34

@W4mumoftwo Love his positive thinking. Our last two exams as well. Can't wait for this to be over.

It baffles me how Latymer marks so many written papers within a few days and yet Consortium schools such as G&L which get instantaneous results don’t let you know until January!

Dallasdays · 04/12/2024 21:39

We finished today. What a great feeling... I think I am more excited than my DD that I will never have to go through another 11+ in my life! We are going to ceremoniously chop up some NVR books this weekend 🙂

Dallasdays · 04/12/2024 21:40

@Heidi245 I completely agree. KGS also marked their written test papers very quickly. It really is bizarre!

We felt the same after Sunday! Bloody NVR, bane of our lives. We’re considering death by fire.

WorkinMumsince4ever · 04/12/2024 23:38

Anyone presenting the exam at NLC? If yes, Good luck!
My DD is taking the exam and I can’t sleep! Luckily she is already deep sleep since 8pm 😂

CruCru · 05/12/2024 06:54

So today is the last day of the consortium exams. My daughter got rather upset about something very minor last night - we’ll be glad when she can have a break.

Good luck to all doing the exam at NLCS!

First, they need to wait for all the exams to be complete, in order to correctly figure out the SAS scores. But after that, not sure why it takes so long! I remember I did not understand, and the wait felt like forever when my dd did it two years ago.

11plus2nd · 05/12/2024 08:54

No NVR practice for my daughter, as a result she only managed 15/25 or something like that in Spgs first round and wasnt be able to complete with Godolphin NVR either. We hope that maths and English performance save it. (The same thing to my elder daughter who refused to practice any NVR years ago and didnt do well with NVR section however still invited to interviews). Keeping everything crossed for now.

It definitely feels like Christmas for us, maybe very very light practice for Spgs if she is invited to round 2.

Final Consortium session is this week (maybe even today). So I get that they have to wait for the 3 different sessions to be completed, but, as you say, I’m not sure why the long wait after that!!!

All the other computerised tests for the girls’ schools let you know the results next week. And Latymer must have an army in marking their written papers - especially if there were different papers for different time slots and calibration to be done!

Why didn't your dd practice NVR? If it something she has never seen, practicing it even a little would have helped. Some people are naturally good, but some need to understand what to look out for. I think with the schools, they def have a cut off score for the different sections, but if it is borderline a higher score for math/english could help.

Surely NVR and VR must have a lower weight

I am hoping so, as those are my ds weaker areas. But there is probably a cut off I am sure....as I know this to be the case with another school a couple years ago....the cut off for VR was 115.

The last Consortium exam day was today … but perhaps there is a mop up sessions for girls who were ill on their chosen day.

FHRP have said they’ll let parents know who they would like to interview by the end of next week.

Does anyone know when Thomas’ College is sending out results? It’s the only one I don’t know

JustInvolved · 05/12/2024 16:36

Consortium - end of next week. Thanks for the info. I was wondering about that.
Any info on when LEH will let us know?
