Hi all

It doesn’t look as though one of these threads has been set up yet so I thought I’d do it.

I have a daughter going into year 6 and a son going into year 8 next month - both will be moving to senior school in 2025.

SPGS - this week! Good luck!

TwoInARow2020 · 25/11/2024 11:03

Did anyone take the Thomas’ College exam this weekend? My DD was quite deflated afterwards, she found it hard to know what to write in the timeframes and said they were waiting around for ages

Did anyone take SPGS today, how was the experience?

NoMoreFalafelForYou · 25/11/2024 19:16

Thomas’s was a bit odd all round. The morning session finished half an hour early and children were standing in the rain in the car park waiting to be collected. As for the paper, bonkers. It made me think, if this is the sort of child they’re looking for, it’s probably not right for us!

SPGS on Friday for DD, anybody else?

CruCru · 28/11/2024 07:35

Good luck to your daughter, DreamyDreamy - I hope it goes well.

Also, good luck to all the girls who have the consortium exam tomorrow, Tuesday or Thursday next week. I expect there are quite a lot of them.

Thanks, and to your DD too!

Best of luck to everyone sitting Emanuel today! I only just realised that there are really not many places, considering 96 new students and assuming a 50/50 gender split😅

Sass22 · 29/11/2024 13:11

Dropped off DS this morning to Emanuel it was extremely busy. I wonder how many apply for such limited places.

CruCru · 29/11/2024 13:38

Good luck to all of those sitting Emanuel today and those sitting Brentwood tomorrow.

Wlondon14 · 29/11/2024 15:23

@Sass22 it was busy but it seemed organised. I was wondering the same about the number of applicants.

Hatcher · 29/11/2024 16:12

Anyone sat City today? Any sense of the numbers and difficulty?

CruCru · 01/12/2024 08:57

A friend’s son sat City on Friday morning. It was really early (he had to be there before 8am) so presumably they are doing the exam in several batches.

Good luck to all those sitting the Highgate exam on Tuesday.

Any thoughts on the LEH exam this morning? Daughter mentioned having translate Madagascan, which sounds…quirky.

Wlondon14 · 01/12/2024 12:13

@Hatcher a friend’s son sat city and thought it seemed a lot less busy than other exams, but it sounds like there were a lot of sessions.

You may want to delete your message as there will exams on alternative dates

NoMoreFalafelForYou · 01/12/2024 22:28

What, in case people set their daughters up with a quick crash course in Madagascan?
