LEH emails are out.

Bluerose2020 · 07/02/2024 15:30

@lolo99 the start! B! The waiting is torture… my screen time for yesterday and today is basically the hours I’ve been awake… Not fun at all. Hope those waiting hear positive news soon 🤞🏻

Congrats all on offers today! Love hearing all the good news.
Our headteacher hinted he received some results already!

KingscoteStaff · 07/02/2024 16:39

SPGS, CofLG and Ibstock offers are with schools as of this am.

ItsMeHi48 · 07/02/2024 16:46

@KingscoteStaff can I ask, when you say the “offers are with schools” - do they go to all school heads of any child that’s applied? Or just to prep schools? We’re applying from a state school and I’ve never previously been aware of the head having any intel on offers from indes before but maybe that’s just me being naive?!

I think our state head got them. Would be a bit unfair if only prep heads got them.

PreplexJ · 07/02/2024 16:54

The head is not supposed to inform the student/parents result before Friday anyway.

ItsMeHi48 · 07/02/2024 16:59

Our state school head has never ever given any indication that they knew anything about inde school offers/results. When my older daughter who’s now in y8 did brilliantly in 11+ and landed 6 offers from indes, she never got any acknowledgment from our head or congrats in any form. I’m now super impressed with her poker face if she knew all along! 😂

Balhamdad11 · 07/02/2024 17:03

The wait is horrible. I wish they'd just release the results to parents as soon as they're ready. Don't really see the benefit of waiting until Friday and doing it all at the same time. Really hoping that this is all over soon and we don't have to go through the extended uncertainty of waiting lists

It all went to the contact@ email address our state school use, and the administrative gentleman who worked part time receives all the email but I guess he didn't bother at all to tell the head, who went off to her own holiday straight after half term anyway.

QuiteAJourney · 07/02/2024 17:07

As others have said, heads will not say anything...as they know that any information shared will jeopardise the future sharing of information (which they find really useful as it helps them to manage the most challenging cases).
So I am afraid not much to be gained by knowing that the heads know... beyond (even subconsciously) trying to look for signs ...which can be even worse for stress levels, imho.

PreplexJ · 07/02/2024 17:09

One of the information advantage is for those through private school which has its own 11+ intake, can look at how many junior school students they would potentially lost and do some last minute offer/schorlaship/bursary adjustments. However I am not sure if they do that at all.

farfallarocks · 07/02/2024 17:14

@KingscoteStaff you are really torturing us now!

I imagine it gives the school a chance to intervene if a child has no offers but I really don't see the point of the delay. My productively at work has really taken a nose dive I am so distracted/

ItsMeHi48 · 07/02/2024 17:15

There would be no intervening from my daughter’s school head (state), I can be sure of that!

minipie · 07/02/2024 17:39

Don't really see the benefit of waiting until Friday and doing it all at the same time.

I am guessing they want to be able to send out the offers and then disappear for half term rather than face a barrage of calls!

I suppose also there might be some perceived advantage to a school in offering earlier - the child/parents might get attached to the one that’s “in the bag” - so it’s fairer if they all go at once. Plus they all coordinate acceptance dates (eminently sensible and thank god they do), so same offer date ensures same consideration period for all.
