Bloody he'll dc passed everything, even physics lol which is their nemesis and got a 5 in maths, highestvgradecwas a 7 but we are absolutely chuffed to bits, been such a rocky time mental health wise and self harm so this is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck to everyone!

BobBobBobbing · 24/08/2023 08:52

Well done to everyone so far and fingers crossed for everyone waiting.

Two 3s for us- Lit which we werent expecting to pass but it's his best ever result and RE which school insists everyone takes but we weren't fussed over.

4 in French and 5s in geog, chemistry (lower than anticipated) and language (woooooo!)

6s in maths, biology and physics (lower than hoped for, but good enough for what he wants to do at a level)

8 in computing which he's chuffed with.

Have been following and just popping on to wish every single student the very best 👍 and a well done. This was my DD LAST year and I fully understand the nerves of both parent and child. Hope you all have a happy day celebrating results and effort. 🙏🏻

OvaHere · 24/08/2023 08:55

Just heard from sister. Nephew has done better than expected. A 6 in maths which is brill.

Hersetta427 · 24/08/2023 08:50

Mixture of 7’s, 8’s and 1x9 for Dd. 2 marks off an 8 in one of her A level choices so think we might have it remarked.

Unless she needs an 8 I wouldn't bother with a remark to be honest. Score can go down as well as up, it costs money and once she has sat A levels no one will care if her GCSE was a 7 or an 8.

Congratulations on these great early results! From what I can see everyone so far has what they need for their next step, which is ace.

School opens at 9, but given that DC1 was dead to the world when I left for work at 8.30 I think may be quite some time before I get a call. In the meantime I am not going to torment myself with grade boundaries.

OvaHere · 24/08/2023 08:56

Congrats to your DS @BobBobBobbing

Madcats · 24/08/2023 08:58

This is agonising. Kids can pick up their results at 10am and the school usually gets round to emailing them 60-90 minutes later.

DD, who has been brightly clad for much of the summer, is wearing black today!

Some selfish thinking there!

Why?

My kids are Welsh?

groovejet · 24/08/2023 09:02

Well done to those who already have results and good luck to everyone else.

DD is meeting up with friends at 9.20 to go get results, the first time I have seen her start to get nervous. I think seeing DD1 not get her predicted grades last week for A levels has caused a little self-doubt. Already proud of how hard she has worked just keeping fingers crossed that she achieves what she wants.

bendmeoverbackwards · 24/08/2023 09:03

Well done to everyone on great results so far!

Im nervously waiting in the car, anyone else?

OzziePopPop · 24/08/2023 09:03

Congrats to everyone’s DCs who have results already!

DD has gone in to get her results, school opens at 9am/now (!) and I am literally climbing the walls 😂 I’ve not slept, neither has DH (possibly my fault) and I’m majorly terrified. She’s predicted 5-8s but is ‘iffy’ in maths, very talented in essays but low confidence in maths/physics. She’s had two years of tutoring from an exceptional university student we knew and she absolutely should Pass with the 5 she deserves (lower paper) but dear god I am so nervous right now!

I'm supposed to be asleep 😂 (disabled and plans later) but that hasn’t happened.

TripleDaisySummer · 24/08/2023 09:05

We've had no e-mail yet and no indication when it would be sent so DS may have to do what he doesn't want to do and go in and try and get - he's getting dressed just in case.

Iheartbobross · 24/08/2023 09:06

Good luck to everyone! Parents and kids alike!!

OvaHere · 24/08/2023 09:06

Setting off in 5. See you on the other side. Good luck to all other DCs.

Titsywoo · 24/08/2023 09:06

Also waiting in the car. Big queue for results so may be a while! Not too nervous. I'm not expecting great things as he didn't revise at all. He has a great apprenticeship set up and is ready for the working world. School just wasn't for him. I was very nervous last week for DDs Alevel results as she is going to Uni (she got her firm so yay!). For DS I just want him to have passed...

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 24/08/2023 09:09

Sat in car as well! So far faces have been a mix of tears, joy and teenage indifference 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Neversaygoodbye · 24/08/2023 09:09

Well done to those with results so far. I've just woken son up, lol!

wizzler · 24/08/2023 09:11

Dd got all 8s and 9s ... so proud of her she is delighted . Was expecting good results but not that good!

mumofteenss · 24/08/2023 09:12

We cant go till 9.30. I have a very anxious son at the minute

Clymene · 24/08/2023 09:14

He's got the grades he needs SmileSmile

Frenchyq25 · 24/08/2023 09:18

Congrats to everyone who has their results so far. DS was a little upset as his results were a bit lower than he hoped (mostly 2s and 3s) but he did get his 4 in maths and 3 in English which was all he needed.

Middersweekly · 24/08/2023 09:19

A very happy DD3 here! Great results, she’s chuffed to bits!
Well done to all those DC who got what they needed for their next steps and a handhold for those still waiting!

The 4 in maths is fab, as he'll only have to retake the English. well done.

GoodnightJude1 · 24/08/2023 09:22

Anyone have a year 10 DC waiting for their statistics results?? DD is unsure if they get them today and if so if they’re emailed/posted.

She never thought to ask 🙄
