5 left for us.

DD is friends with twins at a different school where one finishes a whole week ahead of the other (because of double maths and some other less usual choices). The early-finisher is promising to be up at the same time and help out where needed.

Our last exam will be physics; roll on 16 May!

filchards · 08/06/2023 17:23

We have: bio, Chemistry, physics paper 2s. Further Maths p2. Maths p3. Eng lan p2.

6 to go!

SomersetBrie · 08/06/2023 17:24

Still got ten - only passed the half way mark yesterday!

CalmConfident · 08/06/2023 17:28

5 to go here..biology, Chemistry, maths calc, physics….abd then that pesky final FMaths on the 21st

Only 4 here left, but then ds sat some last year which makes a huge difference. Ds has just told me he has left his geography text book in school, so revision now a bit stressful for tomorrow!!

There’s so many resources online. The whole Geography subject content book is available on website of AQA.

My DD has 10 left, she has one in last week - food tech.

She is seeing SZA at the o2 on the Saturday night so I'm not sure she will get much done at the weekend.

mumonthehill · 08/06/2023 17:53

Thanks @DontForgetToBreathe WJEC here but I will make sure he looks. He seems to like a book but this evening he may have to use whatever he can find!!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 08/06/2023 18:01

DS has (in no particular order):
Geo papers 2 & 3
Maths paper 3
Eng Lang paper 2
Spanish Writing
Chem, Bio and Phys paper 2s (triple award)
History paper 3

MoFoFlo · 08/06/2023 18:04

Eight exams left for DD. Last one is Dance on 20th.

She was quite happy with PE today, although the 9-marker on training applied to a beginner tennis player wasn’t one she’d prepared for.

The three prom dresses she ordered arrived today but she’s in a mood as she’s not happy with them. I’ve told her we can talk about it once Geography and Biology are out of the way tomorrow afternoon.

HippyChickMama · 08/06/2023 18:07

Biology, English language, History, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish and Maths left to do here. Ds wants me to help him with his biology revision this evening and he's already done an hour of it at school so I'm taking that as a positive. I half expected him to say he didn't need to do any more

TripleDaisySummer · 08/06/2023 18:17

They were suppose to let us know this week if they had a prom ticket - which I thought odd as it was the most intensive week - but they haven't.

DS is pleased though he been offered a place on very short summer school course-he was initially interested but kept putting of applying so I had to sit on him and it was really hard and very painful to get him though application. He's very shy and not very confident - it had slightly improved which is why school admin side attitude towards him has been so frustrating - his teachers and head of year who he actually interacts with describe him as we know him - my DMum convinced they've mixed him up with someone else.

He now very much on home stretch -DD1 had three left as well so very soon by done for the year.

BonjourCrisette · 08/06/2023 18:19

After tomorrow's Biology paper, we will have just four exams left (out of a total of nearly 30). Physics, Chemistry, Russian writing and Additional Maths are all that is left. The finish line feels very much in sight!

MoFoFlo · 08/06/2023 18:25

Anyone else’s DC doing ORC before Geography? She keeps insisting you can’t revise for paper 3. I’ve told her to have a go at some past papers to understand the timing and types of questions.

My daughter is doing aqa geography. She has said you cannot really revise as it's a case study

SheilaFentiman · 08/06/2023 19:03

I don’t know what ORC stands for but we are also on AQA geography here and I think it’s possible to go through the materials and figure out what they might ask

Ds has 5 papers left; all sciences or maths except the English paper on Monday.
He can't wait for the 16th.

His sisters (working from home) definitely can wait!

Clymene · 08/06/2023 19:08

9 more to go here. It's been a bit of a tense day and he's really struggling to get back to the focus of before half term. Now I think I took my foot off the pedal a bit too much.

You can't actually make a 16 year old do anything though can you? Just have to rely on powers of persuasion

DownTheRabbitHoIe · 08/06/2023 19:08

5 to go here. Biology tomorrow, 3 next week and 1 the week after.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 08/06/2023 19:46

6 left here after Biology tomorrow. Even DD thinks they're going really quickly now and she's going into 'oh no I may never see some of these people again' mode. She says some of the boys are idiots but they're 'her' idiots and she'll bizarrely miss them!

grass321 · 08/06/2023 19:47

My son's motivation seems to be dwindling too. He's got four next week and two the week after.

Feels a bit never-ending although he gets three out of the way on Monday and Tuesday.

DontForgetToBreathe · 08/06/2023 19:50

Ds has decided suddenly (after two years) that he likes Geography!

Saisong · 08/06/2023 19:51

Still 10 to go here (including 2 tomorrow). Next week is the most intense, with exams every day including 2 days with 2. Final exam (astronomy) in the following week.

Letskeepgoing · 08/06/2023 20:37

Sorry its me again talking English Lang.
So the school have given this booklet to help with paper 2.
I've been watching online you tube videos which
Seem far more complicated the way they structure the answers complained to the attachment.
In the photo they've given examples of how to word the answers. If they were to use that wording like that would that really be sufficient?

@Letskeepgoing that's fine. Easy for me to mark too :)
