@NewMave the interview is done by current and former housemasters and some other senior members of staff. It's the usual kind of interview, talk about your interests, they might ask about what a boy enjoys doing with his free time, a book he's read, pose a question that makes him think to see if he can articulate his thoughts, how he feels about full boarding.
@Flyingsnow Tranche 1 results expected sometime this week. I have no idea about the list test, though I don't think it's relevant how many answers are answered on average because everyone gets fed different questions, as it's adaptive. I don't think it's like oh you answered 40 questions so you got in as opposed to that boy that only answered 30 so didn't get in. They say it's more about how you think.
@snowydays10 I'd start your own separate thread about Berkshire/Surrey preps as there are lots of knowledgeable parents on here about this swathe of schools. FWIW my impression is that Lambrook's a nice school, great facilities, sporty, able to stretch kids at the top but not a ferociously academic environment. I know some parents who are really happy with it, some parents who wish it was a bit different in various ways but still feel it's the best school for them (especially if they have both sons and daughters and want them all in one school, or don't want their son boarding for Y7+8). It seems less eccentric, less academic and less musical than Papplewick, about as sporty as Caldicot, and more academic than Hall Grove, St Georges Windsor, Eagle House or Danes Hill. I know quite a few families with boys at Papplewick and girls at Lambrook too.
