How did your DD find the exam? DD found it very hard for both papers. Is it true that they only invite about 200 ppl back for the interview round?

My DD also found it tough, particularly the maths paper. I don’t know how many girls they invite for interview, but if it’s any consolation, my elder daughter got into NLCS at 11+ a few years ago, and she also found the exam really hard!

I have two daughters there, both thought that the exams were harder than any other school they applied to (incl Habs, Highgate, SHHS etc). It doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t be invited for interview. 200 sounds about right, they cull the most between written exam and interview, after which you probably will have a 50/50 chance or thereabouts. My DD found the papers very tough and time pressured, much more than the usual papers. In addition the comprehension paper was very tough and DD skipped questions. I don't know how many children sat and how many will be invited back for interviews. Does anyone have a view on that?

Unfortunately I don’t have the numbers for this year, last year it was around 550-600 applicants, 200 interview, 100 offers, 60 places (to join the junior school girls which will make 5 forms).

They called back 190 girls for interviews in DD's year. They targeted a class of 110 (5 forms of 22), only about 40 continued on from the Junior School (it seems like 5-10 of the 48 in Year 6 in the Junior School have been leaving each year). I never found out how many offers they made to fill those 70 places.

I have heard that the interview process is quite tough - typically how long are they and what are the types of questions asked. Please do share your experience, if possible.

Hello, my daughter is at NLCS, the entrance exam is tough, the interview process is relaxed, just a chance for the school to get to know your daughter. It’s a brilliant school for the right kind of girl.

Does anyone know by when the first round results for NLCS came out last year? They say interviews mid-Jan, so by when do they typically send out emails?

Hello, it’s was 08/01 for my first child in 2021 and 12/01 for my second in 2022. Good luck!

Sorry, I just wanted to add that pupils are not going back until 10/01 (inset day on 09/01) do I would be surprised to receive anything before.

I guess they will send the results early next week - fingers crossed! My DD found the NLCS exam the toughest out of all the other written exams - so hoping for a long shot invite back!

Yes that’s the sense I got from my daughter too. She couldnt complete her Comprehension. So dont know how that impacts her chances.

Are NLCS sending their results tomorrow? The email seems to imply that, or have the results already come out.

I think, if they were out, you would have heard either way. I have not seen them “announced” on the elevenplusforum website so I would hazard a guess that they have not. What does the email say?
