By super involved I mean, making sure they do their homework, actually sit down with them and make sure they are doing it right. Also revise everyday with them, making sure they are doing extra work and revising etc, organizing all their revision materials. Almost as if you are their teacher/tutor?
I do all of this, I guess the reason why I do it is to make sure dc achieves the best results possible and I know dc wouldn't do revision properly if I wasn't super involved. I do believe dc would still get great results but not as good as the results achieved with my help. At school dc picks up everything easily and participates and does very well, so perhaps I should just trust dc more and back off a bit? I just can't do it for some reason.
Wonder if anyone is/was in this situation?

We take a similar approach here. What minimum amount of time did you/do you expect to be spent on revision?[/quote]
@GreenLakes Hidden in the depths of the school handbook they suggested how much time they should spend on homework (they hardly had any) on independent revision every night which was helpful as like most teens he didnt want to hear it from his parents who knew nothing but seeing the number of hours from the school he couldn't argue. He is home by 3pm 3 days a week so it is not too difficult to fit it in.

He kept to roughly that from the beginning of S4, he did 3 x 30min sessions most nights when he had nothing else on, or if he was busy during the week he caught up at the weekends or gave himself a break when needed. It was left flexible and he could choose when to do it. It worked well for him in S4 and he didnt feel stressed on the run up to his NAT5s so when he did his Highers in S5 he was already in the habit, had seen the positive results and he upped the time he revised himself to meet the workload.
