11+...anxiously awaiting results

Hope it's ok to post this here. DS had his exam Saturday, and he said today how he can't stop thinking about it, and just wants to know how he did.

We've told him, it really isn't the end of the world if he doesn't pass (and he knew that already), but this is the first time he's experienced an official exam.

So just a post to see how other's DC are doing whilst awaiting results?

Good luck to everyone waiting, I've not entered my DD as I'm not sure grammar would be right for her, but super curious about results particularly in Essex. Do they all come out on the same day?

ElvenDreamer · 12/10/2021 17:00

We're waiting on Essex results. CSSE consortium results are posted Thu and online Fri. CEM results from Chelmsford girls just say mid October so expecting around the same time.

Thank you, super anxious on your behalf!

I do have friends with DCs waiting, I'd be climbing the walls if it was me!

ElvenDreamer · 12/10/2021 17:26

@ILookAtTheFloor believe me I am, DD wants this quite badly, and of course, even good results do not guarantee a place. Chelmsford have a catchment and we are just put of it so need stupidly high results to nab one of the out of catchment places. Colchester is the other one on our hit list. I put on another thread I really hope to see either really high marks that make it almost a done deal, or low marks that mean we can make our peace and move on, it's more likely that it will be somewhere in the middle resulting in lots more nail biting until offers day in March 😭
Good luck to everyone else waiting too!

ILookAtTheFloor · 12/10/2021 17:45

We would've been in the Chelmsford catchment if we'd gone for it. DD2 I think may be more suited.

Were lucky that we're at a feeder primary for a lovely comp.

peewitsandy · 12/10/2021 18:04

Thank you Annaseal and LittleMissglum for your kind words and encouragement for DD3.

Elven, Look
DD1 is year 12 @Chelmsford DD2 yr 10 @Southend and hopefully DD2 was not right for Chelmsford would not have been a right fit for her , nor would DD2 have scored high enough on CEM, even if we were in catchment. Thus, Southend is a better fit for DD3 and less perfectionist (you don't have to be the brightest girl in Essex there, just being bright there is O.k.) It will be 'fantastic' if DD3 can join DD2 there in September 2022

peewitsandy · 12/10/2021 18:06

Scrub: and hopefully.....

DD2 was not a right fit for Chelmsford

ElvenDreamer · 12/10/2021 18:23

We are not close enough to consider the Southend schools sadly, I couldn't make DD do that sort of commute, hence Chelmsford or Colchester. I think she'd thrive in either, but if she got in and didn't, I wouldn't hesitate to pull her out. At the end of the day you can always go from a grammar school into another school, but you can't do it the other way round so we have to try! Your DD sounds amazing @peewitsandy and with your support will doubtless thrive!

Slightly frustrated today to learn that both sets of results we are waiting for are delayed by Covid related delays. Was doing ok with the waiting but keen to know now. Urgh - I guess a few more days won’t kill me but the end of next week feels very far away.

Burnerphone21 · 12/10/2021 21:31

Dd1 did the 11+ last year and passed strongly and got her first choice. She is loving every minute of grammar it was worth the stress.

However I met her from school on results day and burst into tears as soon as I saw her so she thought she failed. Try not to do that!!

Lockdowndramaqueen · 12/10/2021 21:36

Great advice @Burnerphone21 - think dd would be horrified if I did that 😂

Lovely to hear that it’s worked out for you let dd though.

ZenNudist · 12/10/2021 21:43

We are still waiting on Trafford Grammars Manchester. Going to look round the further away Catholic Grammar this weekend that I think ds will get into. Not very keen on local Grammars but ds would love to stay local and at least one of his friends will definitely get in.

So all told not too nervous but just want to know. Got to wait until the 15th, Catholic one might take longer.

Sweetsweetsoul · 13/10/2021 12:31

Still waiting for CEM results here. I was full of hope they’d arrive in the post today but nothing. This is torture!

peacypops · 13/10/2021 16:59

Trafford here too. Results should be here Friday hopefully! I've heard they are being sent via email this year but who knows! The wait is the worst bit. I remember last time sitting waiting for the postman and then all 4 envelopes arriving together.

ElvenDreamer · 14/10/2021 13:36

1st results (CEM Chelmsford) came in post today, 3 more to wait for (2 are aptitude). It's all way too stressful! 1st results good though, but only March will tell if enough as we are out of catchment. Said this on the other 11+ thread too so apologies if anyone's reading it twice!

Parsnipsandgravy · 14/10/2021 13:52

Ooh we are CEM - wonder if we’ll get results today too. It’s torture being at work!

Parsnipsandgravy · 14/10/2021 13:53

Oh and well done on good results @ElvenDreamer

WeatherwaxOn · 15/10/2021 12:23

I've got my results but no idea what it means - it doesn't say pass or fail. Can anyone help?

greyinganddecaying · 15/10/2021 12:45

What does it say?

Parsnipsandgravy · 15/10/2021 12:53

Can you look on the individual school’s website or give them a call @WeatherwaxOn?

Sweetsweetsoul · 15/10/2021 12:55

I feel so stressed today. I was sure we’d get the results and they’re not in the post. I am so fed up of waking up in a panic every night! It’s not a disaster at all if it’s a fail, I just want to know - I feel like we’re in limbo.

Anyone else waiting for Salisbury boys’ results?

madmomma · 15/10/2021 12:58

Urgh. Horrible waiting, and we're out of catchment so another wait coming. It's killing me!

WeatherwaxOn · 15/10/2021 13:13

I can't see anything on the school's website, Parsnips - our score isn't ridiculously low, but it's not that high either. I might just contact the school to see where their benchmark is.

ElvenDreamer · 15/10/2021 13:52

Good CSSE scores for us today, only time will tell. Historical scores show we should be very comfortable but really don't know, it could be a very high scoring cohort this year so lots more finger crossing to March now. @WeatherwaxOn if there is nothing on the school's website you are looking on try the 11+ forum, they have lots of data threads in the various county areas.

KittenKong · 15/10/2021 14:12

We are waiting for my niece - dont they call or something?
