Just another to thing to stress about but it's for my PFB so never been through it before. We find out on the 1st March, am being a silly stress head on here rather than in real life. Any one else? We are in the same postcode as the school we prefer, so it's a big deal if it goes wrong!

@louisejxxx fantastic news 😊
I have just checked - not updated yet, so the wait continues x

FairfaxHigh · 01/03/2021 00:11

Oh no @KitHenry- cross posted. Sorry it's not better news. Do you think you might have a chance on the waiting list?

Fingers crossed tge waiting list comes through for you @Rosesformama. Surely you must be near (if not the) top.

How frustrating @EasterBonnet. I had to click view offer too but yours might be different.

Hope you aren't waiting long @Longdistance

nevernotstruggling · 01/03/2021 00:13

We can see our offer. Dd1 1st choice grammar. I woke her up to tell her

BunsyGirl · 01/03/2021 00:13

We got first choice grammar. So happy! Still won’t be able to sleep though!

KitHenry · 01/03/2021 00:15

I’ve no idea what to do. I’m so depressed. They don’t even have an option for separate sciences at GCSE

BunsyGirl · 01/03/2021 00:18

@nevernotstruggling really tempted to do the same with my DS but DH says no!!!

Ironfloor269 · 01/03/2021 00:22

Congratulations to those who got the schools they wanted. @KitHenry I'm sorry, I hope you are able to join the waiting list for a higher preference school.

@BunsyGirl and @nevernotstruggling, please may I know which counties you are in? My DD got 3rd choice outstanding comprehensive school. Our 1st and 2nd choices were both grammar. 1st choice was a super selective.

nevernotstruggling · 01/03/2021 00:25

@Ironfloor269 Plymouth with the 11+

KitHenry · 01/03/2021 00:25

Just looked at their GCSE results for last year (2020) it was their best year ever with 31% of pupils getting 5 or above in English and Maths. The top achieving pupil at the school got 4 grade 8’s and 4 grade 7’s 😭
I wish we had the 11+ here, my child’s teacher told me he is one of the most able pupils he’s ever taught and thinks he is gifted. Not saying that boast just to say why I’m so unhappy to be allocated the worst school in the county.

Longdistance · 01/03/2021 00:26

Thanks @FairfaxHigh. We’re not inundated with private schools in the area, they’re all out of the way and did foot get to. This one wasn’t and had a lovely feel about it.
My friend got her offer later in in the day last year, so I’m assuming that’s when they’ll send ours.

BunsyGirl · 01/03/2021 00:26

@Ironfloor269 We’re in Essex.

icegarden · 01/03/2021 00:26

Stockport Trafford & Manchester allocations are all out now on line.

What area? Are you on wait lists?
KitHenry · 01/03/2021 00:29

I’m in County Durham. I don’t know anything about waiting lists - there aren’t any grammar schools here.

Here - If you want to add your child's name to a waiting list for a school you applied for, you can do that by logging into the system. If you want to add it to another school, contact the LA - details here.

What I would strongly advise at this point is Not to turn the offer down. That will leave you without a place at all and reliant on waiting lists.

AwFeebs · 01/03/2021 00:41

Ours went on at 12:30.

Been offered 1st choice which I'm pleasantly surprised at as it's always popular.

Pkaboo · 01/03/2021 00:53

Where on eADmission would the result appear? I don't see anything on ours

PatriciaHolm · 01/03/2021 00:55

Depends where you are - If you are on the London eAdmissions site, it won't be until 5pm at least.
Neighneigh · 01/03/2021 00:59

Anyone else in north yorkshire? Our top two choices (out of catchment) say waiting list and choice three says offered but when I click on all of them it says on each ( even the offered one) that we do not have to respond, what's all that about?!

Cariocbirello · 01/03/2021 01:01

Any one still waiting for Essex - I can’t get on the portal as I am not receiving a verification code in my email. Starting to feel a bit panicky - I even checked I could get on earlier this evening & all working then Confused

KitHenry · 01/03/2021 01:02

Why do people advise not to turn down the offer of a school I didn’t preference and don’t want? Surely that says I accept/am happy for him to go there? There is zero chance of me sending him to that school.

louisejxxx · 01/03/2021 01:04

Because once you reject the offer the LA have met their obligation to offer you a place and are not obliged to offer you anywhere else.

Bati · 01/03/2021 01:06

Ours went live at 12.30.
Dd got her 1st choice grammar school. Can't wait to tell her in the morning 😊

Because if you don't, and you don't get a place on a waiting list, you could be without a place in September. It makes no difference to your chances of getting a place on a waiting list. The LA don't have to make you another offer though, so you are reliant on waiting lists.

Only turn it down If you are genuinely happy to homeschool as of September if waiting lists don't get you a place.

You can also appeal. I'm off to bed now but am happy to help more tomorrow (I sit on appeals panels) .

BunsyGirl · 01/03/2021 01:09

@Cariocbirello I got into the Essex portal just after midnight. Have you received an email? I got one in my inbox at 00.23 confirming my DS’ place.
