Hello, I know there’s an excellent thread for the girls. Not sure if there’s one for the boys? Anyone want to come on board? I know we can’t divulge details of round two grammars since there will be late sitters, but was thinking more of a support thread. Any takers?

Yes exactly - I don’t think they need to know.

GrammarHopeful · 03/12/2020 10:31

For those awaiting Sutton Stage 2 results, I understand they should be made available to us on the 16th.

Sterou · 03/12/2020 11:03

@GrammarHopeful - is that so ? We did not realise you get to find out before 1st March? ooohhh what about Tiffin ?

Hi, @Sterou. You will only learn whether your DS is 'elegible' or not, without knowing the score and the position on the ranking list.

The allocation process the follows and you will only learn whether he's got a place on the 1st of March, correct.

Sterou · 03/12/2020 12:28

@anonymous Thank you for the confirmation ! early Xmas present perhaps for all of us perhaps !??!

GrammarHopeful · 03/12/2020 16:06

@Sterou, here's hoping! (xx)

Separately, got a holding email from KGS earlier today, suggesting they will be letting people know about exam slots allocations on Monday, 7th.

lookhappy · 03/12/2020 16:13

Think we only hear about Sutton and not Tiffin eligibility, in Dec, is that right? (Think we only get news on Tiffin eligibility in March?)

EnolanotAlone · 03/12/2020 19:55

Thnaks for setting up the thread, hoping to tag in here to. We are awaiting the first flush of indie interviews and Tiffin/KGS.

JustJuice187 · 03/12/2020 20:31

@lookhappy - yes I think that’s right. We won’t find out about Tiffin until March.
Good luck to everyone!

Jumpalicious · 04/12/2020 17:32

Ok detective work needed fellow 11+ people. 🕵️‍♂️ Just received an email from Whitgift’s head inviting us to “attend” their carol concert on the 10th. Is this significant, or do you suppose they just invite every single applicant regardless of whether they’ve been shortlisted for interviews? I suppose this might only be answer-able by people whose kids sat previously... or maybe by comparing notes to see whether every else on here that applied to Whitgift got same. Even still, who knows… Argh!

OP posts:
Jumpalicious · 04/12/2020 18:14

Oh you know what... (re invitation to carol concert) I’ve just realised, I probably got that because I ticked a box saying (something along lines) of being happy to receive marketing etc type news from the school...

OP posts:
AveEldon · 04/12/2020 21:29

Every applicant will have been invited
We haven't sat the exam yet

Jumpalicious · 04/12/2020 22:13

Thanks @AveEldon! Really helpful.

KGS exam arrangements and KCS interview arrangements (which will include 20 min English composition—is this standard?) are out today.

I think DS got extra time for KGS, but it's not entirely clear (the link to his colour group suggests so, but doesn't say it in the body of the email).

EnolanotAlone · 12/12/2020 21:27

I am not sure on KGS for extra time, all other schools have come back seperatly confirming extra time provisions - KGS are possibly still working through this being a later registration close date.

I have to admire KCS & Hampton on next stage interview requirements - makes me wonder if ISEB results were highly clustered.

PitNicking · 13/12/2020 06:21

We’ve had information on the KCS interview process but not the Hampton process - was that sent in an email or have I missed it on a website somewhere?

BookShark · 13/12/2020 08:47

All we've had from Hampton is a Christmas message and a promise to let us know if DS has made it through to interview stage next week. I'll try not to read anything into the fact someone else has already been told!

EnolanotAlone · 13/12/2020 10:04

Hampton coms were the virtual Xmas greetings & update for next week - no save the date or next steps info like other schools have sent recently.
@BookShark I share a similar gut feel. No news rarely feels like good news, however, all things considered it has only been a week after they sat ISEB - whereas many here have anxiously waited only 2 - & in reality feels much, much longer.

Jumpalicious · 13/12/2020 11:58

@BookShark as far as I’m aware Hampton has not shared any info about the next stage beyond the fact that we will learn more next week. Fear not.

I think that was me misunderstanding Enola - I was a bit surprised!

Happyfour · 14/12/2020 14:12

Hi all, just joined and wanted to say hello :)
We have a DS and have applied to Hampton and Latymer Upper. We haven’t really heard from Latymer but did receive a ‘hello from Hampton’ box, which was a lovely gesture. Roll on Friday and good luck to all your lovely boys xx

lookhappy · 14/12/2020 16:38

Hello from Hampton box? @Happyfour, need to know more (detective work ;-) - when did you get this box and what was in it?!

Happyfour · 14/12/2020 16:45

@lookhappy it was a yellow box with some activity booklets, skittles, a pen and post it notes.
My DS didn’t qualify for the local grammars and seems to be on a downward decline in terms of motivation...slightly worried that the box was a thanks but no thanks and heres a little sweetener 😔

BookShark · 14/12/2020 16:51

No box here...

lookhappy · 14/12/2020 16:58

Oh bless @Happyfour. It actually sounds positive to me... (and nice!).

Hampton did send us a good luck card at the start, which I also thought was a nice touch (I realise that everyone will have got that card tho! This was pre-the Iseb!)

We will have to compare notes at the end of this week. Eeek. Not sure which day we'll hear. Happy - you also mention Friday (was that hinted at in your box?). I got an email saying 'later next (i.e. this) week'.
