How is it going?
So, after the nerve wracking event of getting them back to school and ploughing through all the information to prepare and coping with DD's various reactions when she came home, that bit of it at least seems to be going ok...
Had a rather unfortunate virtual parents 'evening' towards the end of last week, which was intended to prepare parents and carers to support kids going forward, but ended up with more questions than answers so have scheduled another virtual meet.
The following might be helpful, if you don't think this is right or comment on it, from elsewhere in the country with anything enlightening, please do...
Mock exams PPEs will be taking place...these more importnat under covid as there may be teacher assessment processes if the exams get cancelled, (to avoid a re run of last years fiasco)
Prepare as I might, I'm not sure what to do if myself or DD get ill with covid or just normal flu/bugs, if this happens on exam day.
Last year to compare with mocks, she was okay with paracetomol to go and sit mock just about but obviuosly won't be doing that this year...
I've heard it said somewhere that exam boards are preparing a second set of papers for kids that are too ill to sit exams, not sure where i read this, anything else people ?
And in general preparing to carry on with online learning , with attendant difficulties home schooling etc. I can't do paid work at the moment which is a blessing apart from the finances squeezed and home schooling more expensive due to printer cartridges, etc
