sorry for multiple Qs!
We have been offered our 2nd choice of (North London) secondary school, just received the newsletter for this school and it said "we are sorry to be saying goodbye to 11 teachers" ..!
seems quite a mutiny!!
It's making me really hope we get an offer in our first choice.. We are currently 3rd on the list ( on my last check).. so 4 kids in band A will have to not take their places for us to get a chance.. are these good odds?

There are not enough teachers in the country, there is a huge shortfall. Some parents just don't seem to realise this! It will be an even bigger shortfall come September, as many staff have made the decision not to go back into schools.

Listening to parents complaining about their little darling suffering massive staff turn over, when there little darling has been the deciding factor in much staff turning over has been a regular source of amusement throughout my career.

I resent the idea that most children are unpleasant to teach. They are not. Most SLT are perfectly good at leadership. In most jobs it’s the outliers that are the problem. Whether it’s SLT, staff or dc.

I don't think I have ever met an unpleasant child. Many badly behaved ones though

Could you join the Crouch End parents Facebook group to ask about Hornsey? Also starting a new thread here with the schools name in the title would attract locals.

I think Stokey is a banded school so you’ll be third on your band out of about 64? Reasonable odds but who knows this year.
