Just wondered, as our school have been totally silent.

Ours haven't confirmed, however they emailed parents last week saying they'd sent emails to the students school accounts as a "test" and the student needed to reply.

I think they'll go for the email option, which is really disappointing for DS. He would like to be with a couple of friends opening them together. I just don't know how logistically they can't make it work? Shops/pubs etc are reopening, DS is meeting up socially distanced with friends yet he can't walk into a room in a school pick up an envelope and walk out? His college have already confirmed that unless we end up in lockdown again then enrolment will be fairly normal the following week

Nat6999 · 08/07/2020 14:24

Ds school is doing emails at 8.00am on results day.

JessCat75 · 08/07/2020 14:41

Our school is emailing them.

Zandathepanda · 08/07/2020 15:20

Yes students have school emails. No idea why emails aren’t allowed. It’s a categoric no. You can, however, ask to have them posted!

BiBabbles · 08/07/2020 15:34

Ours has contacted us this week to confirm details, and to say there will be update on this and what's intended for next year within the next couple of weeks.

SeasonFinale · 08/07/2020 15:42

Email.. They told us the day we broke up. Same for A levels.

Tigerswife · 09/07/2020 00:12

Hope ours do emails, as on holiday anyway, just want to sort out what’s happening. DD doesn’t want to go in person anyway so email would be better for us. Just total lack of communication since finished in March.

Ours are being done by the alphabet. So my son has to go in to the school for 11.30 to get the results. He is not doing sixth form. But there are teachers there to help with that apparently. I’m happier with that then having to have it emailed.

whoamitojudge · 09/07/2020 16:49

We’ve just found out it’s being done by email

Cherryonthetop2019 · 10/07/2020 00:19

They have to be collected between 8.30-9.00 am on results day or they will be mailed (actual snail mail!!) . The school is incredibly backward in every way and I’m glad that DD is going elsewhere for sixth dorm.

KVlovesWinter · 10/07/2020 00:33

We got an email on Tuesday, Dds school will be emailing them at 8:30 am. They will also make their A level choices online.
They will be able to book an appointment for advice regarding their option choices.

Though the email does say "These plans still may be subject to change"

bettsbattenburg · 10/07/2020 00:39

They will be sent via email and staff will be in school for phone or zoom support.

gigglingHyena · 10/07/2020 00:41

Ours have said results will be emailed to students. Theres a number to ring for those with questions which will allow them to arrange a meeting or video call the same day to talk through the options.

MarchingFrogs · 10/07/2020 01:08

think they'll go for the email option, which is really disappointing for DS. He would like to be with a couple of friends opening them together.

Could they meet up in a local park or somewhere at the relevant time and open their emails together (assuming that this is a technological possibility for all of them)?

At DS2's school, the intention for both results days (he is yr12 and the school does AS) is that results will be collected in person, with members of staff available for advice.

TheYellowOfTheEgg · 10/07/2020 16:51

I don't know about year 11, but my year 10 son will get his RE GCSE result in the post.

OooErrThor · 10/07/2020 16:59

Ours are all coming via email - which is a shame

Yeah he could do, us parents are hoping to arrange something for the evening for a small group, maybe a socially distanced BBQ in a big garden. It's just not the same is it? Sad Just have to make the best of the situation
SheikhaPinty · 10/07/2020 17:25

@Cherryonthetop2019 Are they always oh so soft, warm and caring at your school? Confused weird people!

Cherryonthetop2019 · 10/07/2020 17:59

@SheikhaPinty it’s awful!! OFSTED outstanding in 2008 and not been inspected since. It’s attitude is stuck in the 1980’s somewhere!! I have hated every minute of the last 5 years!!!!!

SheikhaPinty · 10/07/2020 20:41

@Cherryonthetop2019 In this current climate where emotions of uncertainty are running high and the poor young people caught up in it have been bounced back in forth with no idea what to expect, you'd think they'd try and make the results day experience as painless as possible. Oh no, not us! glad for you she's leaving.

Heifer · 11/07/2020 13:13

Seeing that most schools are just emailing results and saying you can phone if you need helps makes me appreciate my DDs school who are actually phoning every Yr11 to discuss results and next steps. I am guessing they will take a verbal agreement to staying on instead of enrolling in person as that is normally done on the same day.

lettertooidentifying · 12/07/2020 10:11

.

Reastie · 13/07/2020 16:22

Students to turn up to school, teachers expected to be there as usual. No info on any distancing just that students will need to go to school at the usual time and will need to let school know if they want them posted instead.

123rd · 15/07/2020 20:30

Rec'd email from DC school today. The results will be realised on the school comms website at a certain time first thing. The children will then have the chance to go in ( I'm assuming in predetermined time slots) to pick up results- discuss options

Tigerswife · 16/07/2020 00:42

Well finally received an email from school today saying still making plans but if we couldn’t get in, then they would email after 9am on 20th or post them. So we will get them emailed.
