As the Tiffin deadline looms, is there a girls SW London grammars / indies thread yet?

I just realised that I need to get the Tiffin Girls form in ASAP, and wondered if anyone else is in the same position? I could do with company in this process!

We’re not yet decided but probably applying to Tiffin, WHS, SPGS, Sutton High and maybe one of PHS / Emanuel / KGS.

@Sweetnhappy1 - you were right. I cracked and called PHS. They will be posting Friday so we'll get them Saturday 2nd!

This could mean the primary / prep schools know on Fri by email? Some schools do this, I think?

I wonder if the prep / primary schools will tell you if you asked them Fri pm? At least it saves waiting for the post!

but they would tell you Monday if a problem with the post.....

The instructions I’ve had from schools (not PHS, didn’t apply there) were along the lines of ‘we will post first class on x date, if you have not received a letter by the afternoon of x+1 date, you may call the school to ask for your result’. So maybe that would be worth a go?

I can’t imagine any state primary Head giving clues - it’s just not important to them, I suspect the school office would open the letter and just file it.

Couple of weeks ago I was waiting for a post then the postman came, there wasnt the post I was waiting for while everyone else seems to have received their post in here. Then we left the house and later on the day we came back with the post through the door. It was a good news!

I remember one year LU sent their offers a day earlier than they had stated intend paperwork. Everyone at the school gates had heard either way, but I’d been out all day unaware. When I got home, there was nothing there. So I called the school and they told me over the phone. Thank god it was good news on that one that year. I accepted on the spot as thst was always that DC’s first choice. Then the post arrived after 5pm . Of all days! I think KGS had posted earlier, but they already told DS he had a place in the interview that year. All that interview involved was them reading his reference to him (!) and telling him about the coach service and how they hoped he would come. I think KGS was a lot less competitive back then. Then Hampton came the next day as scheduled.

Don’t suppose anyone has called Surbiton re posting date?? My money is on letters arriving Friday.

I was told (though not by Surbiton) they were to be posted yesterday. Could be wrong though!

Up in the frozen North of London the schools don't let us know until mid February. I'm feeling anxious and flat and then annoyed at myself for caring. Had gone into quite lackadaisical as thought the sibling link would swing it for dd, but at the interview the room was swimming with siblings and they obviously can't let them all in. Then the head was a bit evasive, like they knew that it wasn't worth engaging with dd. ARgggh.

My post just came.. no surbiton letter (thought I'd let you all know that exciting piece of news!!)

Thanks for letting us know ExtraGuineaPig. On tenterhooks here waiting for the post but that has relaxed me now that there won’t be a letter. This has to be the longest January ever!!
