AIBU to be annoyed at school for making DD wear tights in 30 degree heat

DD is not allowed to wear a skirt without tights to school. It is literally boiling.. she protested to the Head of Year and Head of Lower School who said that one of the reasons why is that 'boys will look up their skirts' (!!!!!!!! 😡) surely this is a TERRIBLE message to be giving girls? Surely if boys look up girls skirts then it is the boys who should be at fault!!!? Shouldn't girls be allowed to wear skirts without being worried about boys upskirting them!!!!!???? And without teachers basically removing all blame from boys and - instead relaying a message that the girls should dress conservatively in case boys can't control themselves!! WTF!!!! I am so angry.

I'd email the head asking why boys are allowed to look up girls' skirts?

Ask why there isn't a rule and if there is what sanctions the boys have for it?

Also what do girls wear for PE? I'm always amused in a wtf way when schools insist girls have longer skirts then put them in a skort for PE.

I would also ask for a risk assessment on thrush and other fungal infections caused by or exacerbated by their sexist uniform policy and suggest they start issuing pessaries.

A skort is shorts with a skirt panel or a skirt on top? How is that comparable? Showing legs and showing underwear are very different.

It would be sexist if the boys can wear shorts and the girls can't. Or if the boys can wear skirts without tights.

The OP didn't mention showing underwear. Most schools ban skirts that are more than a couple of inches above the knee.

I've seen a few arses handing out of skorts,, to be honest I'd rather see underwear.

The OP mentioned the ability to see up a skirt, that would imply underwear? I've seen kids at the local school with skirts much shorter than just above the knee. They would have to take scissors to school shorts to show ass, skirts can simply be rolled up and down again which makes them impossible to police and results in rules like in the OP.
