Girls school shoes for Secondary - the Holy Grail!

Am looking for inspiration for September for girls shoes suitable for walking 1 mile each way, but also look good, are comfy.....and will last!!
Have read some threads from previous years, but would be good to have some up to date info

I can't speak for the girls Clarks shoes, but the boys ones didn't fair very well for the longer walk to secondary school and were also fairly shapeless blobs as shoes go. We now have Geox which have a footbed and very good soles. I'm not sure if the girls styles as as good. A lot of girls at our school - where the rule is 'black polishable shoes' - wear lace ups in a kids of merserised cotton. I suspect they are not genuinely polishable but they look like they are.

I get these for my daughter who is in year 6 and she has said she would like another pair for year 7
