So lots of DC gave Chemistry tomorrow? Any predictions for random scenarios that might come up loosely related to chemistry?

DS1 would be unimpressed by baking!

Stickerrocks · 16/05/2018 20:51

There are a couple in Bournemouth & Poole, with DC travelling from Hampshire to get into the ones in Salisbury as well.

Stickerrocks · 16/05/2018 20:52

None whatsoever in Hampshire, Cornwall or the Isle of Wight.

Yes have checked. She will go down life science route and veer off to neuroscience if she so chooses.

I'm going to talk him through sponge cake theory now. Maybe Yorkshire Pudding as well Wink

My DD's college is a bog standard college, albeit with a good reputation. They say you need an 8/9 to study further Maths or else you will struggle. Fair enough I think.

cubscout most of my DD's class didn't leave the 2 lines between answers either.

theimpossible how awful for your DD, hope she did well anyway.

Most spec for neuroscience says 2 sciences and give a list maths is classed as a science in their list. Biology is a must but not chemistry.

Maths. It's like no-one else has ever taken an exam in this house Hmm I'm trying to be supportive, but the "I can't wash up, I need to revise" excuse is wearing thin

She may go down geosciences yet!

Well done to your DS mmzz - DD finished Biology but only managed 67% on Chemistry (she spent most of last week doing Computer Science revision)...hoping its enough too...she did a past paper a week ago and got A/A* but I would have liked to have seen a little more revision today..she's hardly touched Chemistry in a week!

But change it's soooo different these days. In the olden days we could only give answers up to 20 in maths exams, because we didn't have gadgets or calculators & had to count on our first gets and toes. You obviously don't appreciate the pressure he is under!

Report
Stickerrocks · 16/05/2018 21:05

First gets? Fingers, obviously.

I wouldn't mind. But I finished my degree last year and a magic fairy did all the housework.

However. It will all be over at some point. Please God let him pass because I can't do a resit in November.

What was the genius line about revision cards in the fridge?

Report
sandybayley · 16/05/2018 21:12

Didn't we say 'flash cards in the fridge'? Or maybe 'they grow spinach on Mars'?

Lol stickerocks
Well done to little mmzz
changebags ditto my dd works 12 hour shifts and still dgd will not make her mum a cuppa when she comes home. And today was dds day off and she cooked dinner for us. Dgd threw a strop as she wanted something else refused to eat dinner so dd said cook something yourself then! One burnt pan later and to save the peace muggins here (me) had to turn round and cook tuna pasta for her. Talk about rule the roost!

Bluebelle I really think that the way they respond after an exam has very little bearing on how they've actually done! Some will have genuinely found it easy. Some will have missed the nuances and only think it was easy. Some won't be prepared to admit that they struggled a bit. Some are more inclined to dwell on what they didn't know, rather than what they did and therefore think it went badly. Etc etc. They really aren't the most reliable of witnesses at this age!

Report
Sostenueto · 16/05/2018 21:17

bluebelle tell him not to listen or take notice of what others say. A lot of it is bravado on the part of other children. Tell him he's a Star and that's all that matters.Flowers
