6 exams left, English Lang, Maths, C2 and C3 finishing with P2 and P3. same here fleur

All momentum lost here, some revision going on but not enough for my liking. He is shattered.

He and we cannot wait for Friday.

LIZS · 12/06/2017 08:24

Oops 20th!

unfortunateevents · 12/06/2017 08:36

We are exactly like Quadratilla, 5 exams left with a free day on Thurs - which is badly needed for revision for the last two exams on Friday, including Physics. We cannot wait for the end! DS is panicking about Eng Lit this morning, theoretically it should be one of his stronger subjects but he hasn't done much revision. Maths tomorrow but he has 2 separate revision sessions at school today and his maths tutor this evening so he's decided that will pretty much be it on maths!

poisonedbypen · 12/06/2017 08:48

How come most seem to finish this week? We have B7, C7 & P7 next week - OCR Triple science.

Dd's school do AQA for pretty much everything except English so all that is next week is further maths - the vast majority finish on Friday with physics.

Dd didn't seem bothered this morning (English), I should know better than be surprised by that Hmm

Fleurdelise · 12/06/2017 08:55

Same here Giraffe I am hoping the day off on Thursday will give him some motivation to revise all day.

Poison our board for sciences is AQA also triple. WJEC for English today and Edexcel for maths.

ifonly4 · 12/06/2017 08:57

poison - my DD also doing OCR triple science and that goes onto next week. DD says that some do have an exam here on the 26th, not sure what that is.

So we've got two weeks to go, seven exams, so exams are a lot more spaced out. DD then has her Grade 8 Violin exam and wants a distinction, so we'll start all over again.

AQA English here today. Did better in her mock than forecast. Her English teacher has had some training on how the new papers will be marked so hopefully she's given DD a fairly accurate prediction.

poisonedbypen · 12/06/2017 10:53

Oh right, the sciences are sit up more for OCR. Early on was B123, C123, P123, last week B456, this week C456 & P456, next week B7, C7, P7. All only one hour each, but does make it drag on. Nothing on the school's list for 26th so don't know what that is

Mumteadumpty · 12/06/2017 11:01

AQA English, 'OK but boring'

Laniakea · 12/06/2017 11:16

Edexcel English - fine, dull, writing piece was article "prized possessions"

Maths tomorrow but she desperately needs to do more chemistry & history revision today.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 12/06/2017 11:19

AQA English fine, quite easy, one question a bit odd, but no problems. Maths tomorrow will I'm sure be challenging - once English and Maths are out of the way, DD will be thrilled.

ifonly4 · 12/06/2017 11:19

AQA - question 2 hard, and would have liked more time to get a few more points across. DD's friend agrees.

castleontheground · 12/06/2017 11:53

AQA English Lang 'went well x'
...I am not going to try and find an implicit meaning in Dd's text!

Piggywaspushed · 12/06/2017 12:09

Having just seen the AQA paper, it seems the essential revision for our DCs would have been reading MN (and The Guardian) all this time, instead of us Wink

CrazedZombie · 12/06/2017 12:14

OCR Triple here too so next Friday is the last exam.

Not sure what happens after exams. So they go back to school for lessons?

Fleurdelise · 12/06/2017 12:22

WJEC English Lang went well, if I would go by DS's reviews of all the exams he should achieve straight A*. Grin

It's going to be a long wait...

AmITwirly · 12/06/2017 12:27

CrazedZombie I doubt your DC will have lessons after the exams. The normal procedure is for the massively long summer holiday to start then.

DS's last exam is Additional Maths on Tuesday next week (20th). Both my DCs are off to Asia on the 22nd, so I'm trying to organise all of that (visas, malaria tabs etc) whilst keeping them calm for their remaining exams.

DS looked shattered when I collected him after Edexcel English just earlier. The only information I got out of him is that he finished the questions (hooray!) and he wrote a speech for the writing task.

settledandsmug · 12/06/2017 12:35

Eduqas English Lang - ok. DS said he kept slipping in accidental references to election phrases when writing a letter of response about pets like - 'for the many not the few' and how pets can provide a 'strong and stable' friendship. Oh dear.

CrazedZombie · 12/06/2017 12:48

Ds is going be happy with an extra long summer. He has s Sixth Form taster day in early July.

Dancergirl · 12/06/2017 13:41

OCR English Language this morning - comprehension was quite hard, did well with creative writing.

Hang in there everyone, nearly over!

Dd has History on Wed, RS on Thursday, then FINISHED Smile

choccyp1g · 12/06/2017 13:45

settledandsmug I jokingly gave DS the challenge to get the word hubris into his English paper.

pasanda · 12/06/2017 13:48

DS found AQA english quite hard this morning. But he has never really liked english. I did ask if he managed to write something without too many 'like' 'generally' etc etc in as this is all I seem to hear when he is talking!!

'Like yeah, generally it was fine'!!

Four more this week and then the last two OCR triple sciences next week (finish on Wednesday). He (and I) cannot wait! At least I won't have to keep picking him up from school after the morning exams (half an hour drive each way!) Goodness knows what we would have done if I worked full time.

pasanda · 12/06/2017 13:49

choccy - what does that mean??? Blush

choccyp1g · 12/06/2017 13:51

Hubris means the overconfidence that inevitably leads to humiliation.
could be applied to Theresa May, or would in fact be very appropriate for DS!
