Not quite at the end of the process for us. DS1's last A-level exam is Monday, DS2's last GCSE paper is Tuesday. This weekend practically no revision is being done, because it's far too hot to concentrate and hayfever seems to have gone berserk. We are all a snivelling mess.

Thanks to everyone for the supportive thread. It's been very encouraging to see we are all going through the same concerns at the same time. Grin

Fingers crossed for the results they all need in August, so they can all move on to what they want to do. Star

castleontheground · 18/06/2017 18:18

B3 Monday, C3 Wednesday, P3 Friday. Dd had enough. Too hot. Change of teachers etc means she seems to be learning most of these modules from scratch, cramming it in. After 6 weeks she's shattered and upset these are going to bring the science 1s and 2s down. She doesn't want to do sciences for A Level so motivation lost.

Madhairday · 18/06/2017 18:25

Dd has the same, Castle. She's exhausted and had enough - and it's far too hot. Not long to go now... I keep telling her to power through. She does want to do chemistry and biology a level so these are important to her but she's lost the will.

She's got a residential 'experience' in July at the uni she wants to go to, they put one on every year over a weekend. It's a specialist uni (think veterinary science/agriculture type of stuff) so part of the experience is milking cows at 6. 30am. She will adore this - truly. Strange child.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 18/06/2017 18:28

Revision here has been consistent but slightly more relaxed this weekend. A full day studying tomorrow, then final history GCSE on Tuesday.

DD has parties and prom this week, then two different weeks of work experience, followed by a few days off and then an Eastern Europe concert tour with school (and DD2) which should be fun.

She has then got a couple of weeks relaxing, seeing friends, visiting family round the country, going to some theatre shows, followed by our family holiday of just over two weeks. We will be back just before the GCSE results, which stops too much dwelling on it!

Then we will be away for the bank holiday and then a week and a half before school opens. It feels quite short put like that! I think she has a nice balance of being busy and resting. She briefly considered NCS, but it didn't work date-wise.

No open days here, but she will start researching university courses over the summer - she knows she wants to do German, but the question is where. But that's definitely a decision for another time.

Good luck all this week.

castleontheground · 19/06/2017 09:05

Will I be the only one left on here by Friday!?

Madhairday · 19/06/2017 09:24

I'll still be here Friday castle!

Feel sorry for them today in this heat. Dd doing B3 edexcel. Anyone else? Hope they let them remove their blazers. Dd does her exams in the library which is even warmer than the Hall Sad

BertrandRussell · 19/06/2017 09:32

I'm just coming up with a summer reading list for ds. He will be pleased!

castleontheground · 19/06/2017 09:33

Madhairday thanks. Cramming chemistry later then!

pointythings · 19/06/2017 09:33

I will be here Friday - last Physics exam.

FancyFingers · 19/06/2017 09:37

Ds edexcel b3 today too. Exam wed and fri and then done.

Good luck to all dc with exams this week, not good weather for sleeping. Ds's hay fever is terrible too, despite starting loratadine early.

Ds has to go in sporadically at funny times for revision. He is finding it tough that all his friends finished last week, only 5 in year 11 doing triple science at his school.

FancyFingers · 19/06/2017 09:42

Ds said his school are allowing removal of blazers/ties in hot weather. And they are providing cold bottled water too.

ifonly4 · 19/06/2017 10:04

So it looks like castle, Mad, Fancy and pointy will be here until Friday to keep me company! Anyone else?

DD just finished B3 this morning and has C3 on Wednesday and P3 on Friday - she's doing OCR 21st Century - I don't think anyone else on here is with that board. She's doing biology at A level - I wish she'd done more revision over the weekend but she kept saying she'd got it under control.

We've got a hospital appointment this afternoon, so DD will be frazzled after doing her exam in an internal hall (which gets hot even when it's cool) and then we have to bus it and walk 20 mins to get there this afternoon.

Fancy - that's no joke sitting exams with hayfever, I hope you're DS copes okay this week.

Peaceandl0ve · 19/06/2017 10:49

DS has just done P1 this morning, last one mathematics, both Wjec in wales, tomorrow, then all, done for this year. At least until results in August!

FancyFingers · 19/06/2017 10:50

Thanks ifonly, I hope your dd's appt goes ok.

Ds is home until 1.10, then has a school revision session until 2. I said I'll drive him as it's a long walk otherwise.

He said the exam was good, he did lots of revision over the weekend. He wants to do a level biology, so fingers crossed.

Dancergirl · 19/06/2017 10:58

We've finished but just wanted to offer support to those who still have exams especially in this heat.

pointythings · 19/06/2017 11:10

DD1 has hay fever too but is on antihistamines permanently to control her eczema so taking them is routine.

Physio review tomorrow, Peon is back to steady ache after last week's acute flare due to too much essay writing. It's a long road to recovery.

foundoutyet · 19/06/2017 11:15

ds still has 1 more to go, Tuesday :)

ifonly4 · 19/06/2017 12:05

DD just got back. She's happy with B7, although, none of them had come across the wording "harvest cycle" on the last 6 mark question, so didn't really understand it. How did everyone else get on?

Dancer - thanks for your support. What's happening in your household this week?

found - what exam if your ds doing tomorrow? Good luck to him.

Laniakea · 19/06/2017 12:08

I'm still around sending sympathy for the heat & pollen. Hope the week flies by for all the dc still working Flowers

Danglingmod · 19/06/2017 12:12

Day sat that board, ifonly, but isn't a triple scientist!

Danglingmod · 19/06/2017 12:13

Ds...

rainbowjoy · 19/06/2017 12:46

I'm still here until Monday Aqa design Technology product design ! Think of my poor ds

settledandsmug · 19/06/2017 12:48

I'm here until Monday for DT Product Design also. DS is desperate to be celebrating and was out Friday as many friends had finished, wants to be out tomorrow also as a number of friends finish after history. I, however, am trying to keep him in exam mode as he has a revision session the next morning. Lots of battles!

Madhairday · 19/06/2017 12:56

Oh poor DCs with product design next week! That's so unfair!!

DD said b3 was ok but she 'flunked the last question.' something about fermentation?? She said everyone seemed to struggle with that one.
