Hello everyone, new thread for the final push.

How very rude of the weather Kitten Grin

German today for DS, he couldn't give two hoots about this subject, and wishes he never took it. He only took it to achieve the Baccalaureate (sp), which seems to have disappeared off the radar in the main. He doubts he will pass.

Yesterday was English, RE and Business Fast Track. He felt all went well, the toughest was the latter as it was the harder paper, but he doesn't find the subject too hard, so feels he did fine.

Strange now that there are subjects being ticked off the list that DS will never study again. Smile

hewl · 08/06/2016 08:46

Calculator maths tomorrow. If dd feels that has gone well then I am really hopeful that she will pass maths (which has been a real concern this year). She is booked into the maths retake block at her new 6th form but we are really hoping she won't have to use it.

Double Chem on Friday and a day off today, she is still asleep but needs to get up and start revising!!

Its a bloody slog isn't it.

boys3 · 08/06/2016 09:25

Like many others no doubt AQA Geog this afternoon. This week seems to be going quite quick and (whispers) it almost seems as if the end is starting to come into sight.

No thunderstorms or rain here. However yesterday afternoon's exam for DS2 was heralded by a full blown and quite lengthy RAF fly past as they were all waiting to go in.

Icouldbeknitting · 08/06/2016 09:39

We are looking forward to binning the German books tonight and the maths books tomorrow. I don't think he's opened the two German revision guides that I bought, at least the maths one has seen some use (though not recently...)

littledrummergirl · 08/06/2016 10:14

Ds1 should have finished his German exam today and should now be in computing-he had a five minute turnaround.
Geography this afternoon.

swingofthings · 08/06/2016 11:05

DD just texted that computer science went well. She has only ever got top marks but the one subject she feels she knows the least about. I think the boundaries are very generous!

needastrongone · 08/06/2016 11:14

DS says German was fine as well. I don't know if that's because he couldn't care less about German or it was, actually, 'fine'..... He will be chuffed to pieces with a C Smile

Icouldbeknitting · 08/06/2016 11:34

DS was looking at a solid D in German just before Christmas. He pulled his CA up a bit but he can't remember what he got. I'm assuming that he'll end up with a C, the bits they are doing today he is good at but they are such a small part of the marks compared to the CA that I can't see that he can pull up to a B. Not that it matters (other than to my inlaws who will no doubt be sweet about it and then list the achievements of the other grandchildren)

littledrummergirl · 08/06/2016 12:35

Ds1 has said they were both fine as well. He's now revising for this afternoon. Grin

Travelledtheworld · 08/06/2016 14:05

We are all feeling really jaded now. DD one AS exam left to go. Poor DS sweating over Geography this afternoon in a rather stuffy school gym, and still a dozen exams left. The worst being Friday when he has four papers.

both kids look pale from too much time inside.

DS who is very hard working and on top of everything, told me this morning he has been skipping lunch because if he eats it he feels sick in the afternoon exams.
Sad
Roll on June 16th when we are all finished !

BitOutOfPractice · 08/06/2016 14:29

My DD looks like a ghost, she's so pale

She did a bit of revision in the garden yesterday but she's soooooo white

hewl · 08/06/2016 14:46

I have MADE dd stop doing maths papers and go and ride her horse. I even went and caught him and got him ready for her. I have said all this mollycoddling stops on June 18th

dowhatnow · 08/06/2016 14:57

Geography went fine apparently but she said she will tell me more when I pick her up in a few minutes...

TheSecondOfHerName · 08/06/2016 15:09

How was the German listening paper? "It was OK"
How was the German reading paper? "It was OK"
How was the school revision session for tomorrow's Maths paper? "It was OK"

Perhaps he used up his weekly quota of communication in yesterday's English exam.

NorbertDentressangle · 08/06/2016 16:15

haha at the "it was ok" answers - that's probably my most common text from DD at the moment.

Today both German exams were....guess what? Yep.... OK!

Geography - DD had a near miss there this afternoon. She nearly didn't see the last question (11 marks) but saw it in time, phew!

FantasyAndHope · 08/06/2016 16:18

DD had igcse geography today she said it was amazing loved the paper and said it was a gift maths tomorrow

HesMyLobster · 08/06/2016 17:19

An exam free day for DD today.
She has been working hard at maths and biology ready for maths tomorrow and double biology on Friday.

I bought her a new calculator as part of her "revision survival pack" - hopefully she's figured out how to use it! Confused

228agreenend · 08/06/2016 17:34

Yikes, now,you are worrying me about geog. Ds said it was 'OK' which means Not-Ok. When asked more, he said it was harder than expected, but okay, and apparently everyone thought the same. Even said that in class work before study leave his grades had improvs. I hope not looking at geog for a few weeks due to other exams hasn't tainted his chances.

Apparently we had. A into storm here last night, but I was 15 miles away and missed it. We even had a power cut, but it was before bedtime, thank goodness.

Two exams tomorrow, then DT in two weeks, and then that's it!

I was invigilator for geography this afternoon. Teacher was quite happy with the paper as they had covered quite a lot of it in the mocks. Students said it was ok, they all got on with it, only 2 who gave up after about 15 minutes in.

derektheladyhamster · 08/06/2016 17:49

German is over! Ds had a migraine yesterday afternoon, but said German wasn't too bad 😁

raspberryrippleicecream · 08/06/2016 18:14

Well done your DS Derek.

TheDrsDocMartens · 08/06/2016 18:28

orange surely the teacher shouldn't have seen the paper yet?

Orangetoffee · 08/06/2016 19:00

TheDrs he didn't read the paper or anything like that, just a quick glance at some of the topics. Is that not allowed?

littledrummergirl · 08/06/2016 19:03

Ds1 was well chuffed during computing. He spent some of yesterday googling different ways he can upgrade his pc-he's already started doing this. It came up as a six marker Grin
Geography was good as well. He seems a little hyper this evening though. Confused

Icouldbeknitting · 08/06/2016 19:24

Congratulations Derek on seeing the back of German.
