Here we are everyone.

Well that's ok then.I think C1 was hard but she did ok in it.She will just have to do well in C3 now.

I just have to survive these exams, next years exams and three more kids plus their exams , with an extremely detached Dh and me worrying for England (and currently well in to a bottle of red).

OddBoots · 26/05/2016 06:47

C3 is an A2 module, is her school doing the maths A level in a year?

My DS is doing further maths, I'm not too sure I understand how the various modules work. I know C1 and C2 have to have the grades given to Maths and that Further Pure needs to have the grade given to further maths but from what DS tells me the other three modules (Mech1, Stats1 and Decision1) vary depending on their grade, they can attributed to either and that is decided by the college to maximise the maths grade even if that drops the further maths grade.

I think some schools/colleges teach maths in Y12 and further maths in Y13.

Rain, 6 AS levels???? WTAF? They are clearly totally mad.

teta, perhaps you will find it less stressful with each one, having gone through it all before IYSWIM. I am finding it much easier this year despite DS doing a couple of GCSES at the same time as DD doing her AS's. I am worrying way, way less than last year - what will be will be!

HSMMaCM · 26/05/2016 07:35

6 x AS levels! A couple of people are doing 5 at DD's college, but that's really unusual. Most are doing 3 or 4.

No Oddboots ,its me getting muddled. She's doing the Statistics module in 3 weeks time.Yes,Btm I probably will become more laid back.I do think I was a bit shocked yesterday as dd1 is normally so calm and laid-back.Getting so upset is very unlike her.
6 As levels really does sound bonkers Rain.I feel for your DD.

LittlehumHams · 26/05/2016 08:47

teta My dd is also taking C3 and C4 (OCR) after half term which is because she is taking Maths and Further Maths.

Auntpetunia2015 · 26/05/2016 09:17

Bloody hell I thought 4 was bad enough...6 is madness. Good luck to everyone today with English and biology DS has been up since 5 revising.

LineyReborn · 26/05/2016 10:52

I really hope the Biology exam is this afternoon because DS is still at home.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 26/05/2016 11:48

I guess DD is doing 5 if you include General Studies, which they all do at her school (unless opt instead for Critical Thinking)
And yes, we have Biology this afternoon Liney.

I hope this one goes well for her and for all the other biologists here.
Will be very pleased when this one is done and we're heading for half-term.
Just a General Studies too on Friday morning.

LineyReborn · 26/05/2016 13:54

Thanks, Juggling. I am worrying about everything at the moment. Driving everyone nuts probably.

ono40 · 26/05/2016 14:06

If anyone's DC is interested in doing STEM at uni, school has just sent through a link to this organisation that will place students in industry for a year and find potential companies to sponsor them financially - worth a go I'd say! Shame DS isn't doing any STEM subjects

LineyReborn · 26/05/2016 14:17

ono40, many thanks for that - I've sent it to DS.

Hopefully he will not be too despondent after Biology to read it!

ono40 · 26/05/2016 14:38

Just had a very embarrassing encounter with the Ocado delivery man as I'd sprayed some Rescue Remedy onto my tongue seconds before I opened the door. I absolutely reeked of alcohol, he must think I am a right lush to be stinking of alcohol at 2.30pm on a Thursday Grin

LineyReborn · 26/05/2016 15:15

Does it smell like stale vodka? I think that's the one my step-m used to try to get me to use. Vile stuff!

Anyway, the Biology verdict is 'really good'.

LittleHouseOnTheShelf · 26/05/2016 15:23

ENglish was good, just waiting to hear about biology from DS?

IrianOfW · 26/05/2016 15:44

I am waiting to hear about biology too

IrianOfW · 26/05/2016 16:21

Biology was 'meh' Confused

Auntpetunia2015 · 26/05/2016 16:21

Biology was worded weird according to DS! But ok once you worked out what it wanted

bigTillyMint · 26/05/2016 16:38

DD said English was hard LittleHouse!

bigTillyMint · 26/05/2016 16:39

Bur she's all finished now!

JugglingFromHereToThere · 26/05/2016 16:40

DD came round the corner from school and gave me a little wave when I picked her up after Biology exam just now. And a nice smile as she walked along the road. First time I've seen that since GCSE's I think!
When she got in she said "Yes, that went quite well I think" or something along those lines.
And she is sooo pleased that she only has General Studies tomorrow pm and then half-term and just a few more nice spaced stragglers after half-term, such as second Biology and final Maths (Stats)
So, as I thought after stressy last week and this, we're nearly there now.
A bit premature but I wonder what results will be. I really have no idea - except possibly not quite as good as the GCSE's Confused
Off to London tomorrow with DS and a meet up with the DGP's

HSMMaCM · 26/05/2016 17:08

DD said a set of gel nails would be a lovely surprise after her drama exam yesterday. She looked hopeful and she might be lucky if she clears up her pit of a bedroom.

bigTillyMint · 26/05/2016 19:11

I like your thinking HSMWink!

LineyReborn · 26/05/2016 19:12

That's good, bigTillyMint. Relieved??!

Stopyourhavering · 26/05/2016 19:17

ds had WJEC AS biology today, says it went quite well, despite many of his friends saying it was terrible....I hope he's right to feel confident after he did abysmally in mocks...maybe he took this result to heart and has put in the effort required!!
