Juat thought it might be nice to have a small parental support group!

Coping with Teenagers going through Revision / Mocks / STress etc

DD had her mocks before Christmas, can't believe this is the last term that she will HAVE to go to school!!!

Anypone else out there?

DS2 got 7Bs and 3Cs and is pretty happy, though a little disappointed he didn't get an A. This gets him into Sixth Form College and to do the subjects he wants, so we all look forward to a celebratory trip to the local Tandoori!

Congrats everyone - especially the A*s.

Ds2 got 2 As, 7 B's and 4 C's. ( he didn't take 13 straight GCSEs BTW a couple of these are those combined thingys)

Milliways · 23/08/2007 15:25

DD and friends are all going put for a meal tonight. They had their picture taken for the local paper (DD was highest Marks in school!)

Just goes to show, she was sooo upset when didn't get into the grammar school at age 11, but thrived in a good comprehensive.

Milliways - I bet your DD did better than many at K. DD didn't get in there either, but her results last year were better than lots she knew who did.
Makes you wonder how good they are at spotting potential, rather than tutoring...

thegirlwithnoname · 23/08/2007 15:30

DCousin got 7A* 2A 1B and is apparently really sad and crying about the B, she's always been a drama queen, a clever drama queen mind!

Milliways · 23/08/2007 15:37

Yes Atilla! She never got the hang of non-verbal reasoning! Her CAT tests in Yr 7 were good but not brilliant, but she slogs hard and has always been driven to be top - so maybe K would not have suited her if she HAD got in.

All her friends have done well, so they are all happy. She just felt for all the ones who were crying because they failed!

DD got 2A, 6B and 3C.
Very pleased and proud.

scienceteacher · 23/08/2007 15:40

DS1 is only in year 10, so only did 2 GCSEs. He got an A* in RS and an A in French. In the first part of his triple Science, he got 100/97/96%. We are very pleased (and so is he).

juuule · 23/08/2007 15:42

Well dd is happy with her results.
2 x A*,
7 x A,
4 x B.

A's include 2 for the double science course which she only started in Feb. when she found out she would need it for entry to her college course and when applying for medicine at Uni. So pleased for her.

Chickhick · 23/08/2007 18:36

My dn got 1 A, 5 B's and 5 C's. Very pleased

littlemissbossy · 23/08/2007 18:41

1 A, 6 Bs and 3 Cs here - very happy with his results apart from the "passed even though my coursework was late and I hardly revised" comment
