DS came out of C4 pretty cheerful too! Phew. That's maths done then! Just physics to go on Tuesday so yet another weekend of revision. He's going to have the rest of today off though.

Well done to the everyone who has finished! Very envious. Can't WAIT for it all to be over.

BethanKate · 24/06/2016 12:34

STEP 3 yesterday went a lot better than STEP 2. Phew.

Edexcel C4 today was fine.

Happy for those of you whose DC have finished & good that most exams seem to have gone well. Hope disappointment over voting hasn't affected anyone's exams today.

FP3 on Mon & Physics on Tues then it's over for us.

Dunlurking · 24/06/2016 12:41

Edexcel C4 OK for ds as well. Glad everyone else seems to have been happy with it. Good luck to the Physics people for next week.

hellsbells99 · 24/06/2016 14:09

Sorry not M4, I meant C4 went well!

raspberryrippleicecream · 24/06/2016 16:34

Yes DS1 seems happy enough with C4. Further Maths on Monday and Physics on Tuesday, then we are done.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 24/06/2016 16:41

OCR MEI C4 went well for DS, but he's just talking about the referendum result. He can't believe that leave won when all his friends and most of the people he knows voted to remain. He's quoted a FB post that says, 'we must live in a utopian bubble with our like minded friends and have discovered that too many people are right wing or racists or idiots or all three!'

snowy508601 · 24/06/2016 21:01

DD thought step 3 was really difficult. There was something she just couldn't get to integrate. It was very very hot and humid yesterday afternoon and I don't think that helped. She said she did so many workings the paper was a mess and the marker might not be able to follow! I am surprised she has struggled so much with STEP as she has done ok with practice papers.
Core 4 OCR (non MEI) was fine.DD got a different answer to most of her friends for one bit, but she is adamant she is right!
Just FP2 and Phys 5. She is hopeful of 4 A*s - shame about STEP!

EllenJanethickerknickers · 26/06/2016 20:00

It's gone all quiet! Has everyone but the physicists and further mathematicians finished? FP2 tomorrow and AQA physics 5 on Tuesday. Then it's all over and done with. Phew!

hellsbells99 · 26/06/2016 20:04

Hi EllenJane. On the final run now. DD only has AQA physics left now. Majority of her friends have finished and were out clubbing on Friday so DD is getting fed up now. She is just off to the gym for an hour.
Good luck for further maths tomorrow.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 26/06/2016 20:15

Thank you. DS1 feels her pain. He has missed out on a huge scout network camp event in Cirencester this weekend and the pub tonight. Good luck to your DD on Tuesday. Smile

SecretMcSquirrels · 26/06/2016 20:21

Good luck to those with exams this week. The end is in sight.
until results day

snowy508601 · 26/06/2016 20:31

DD is pretty certain she won't get to Cambridge now, so hopefully will be able to get used to the idea of her Insurance.
So, so pleased there is only 2 more days to go .They seem to have gone on forever.Good luck peeps for the final push!!

EllenJanethickerknickers · 26/06/2016 20:48

That's a shame, snowy. Perhaps best to be slightly pessimistic, then you don't get any unpleasant surprises, I suppose. DS will be happy with either choice, but is still hopeful for Warwick. Me too, as accommodation is significantly cheaper! Grin

hellsbells99 · 26/06/2016 21:34

DD also thinks she has missed her offer but would be happy with her insurance choice. I am still trying to persuade her to book accommodation at her firm choice just in case - the deadline is Friday.

We've still got AQA physics on Tuesday too and DS thinks that unless he gets 85% + he won't get his A. There seem to be a lot of people unsure that they have got their grades and he will be one of them if physics doesn't go well!

DS said today he feels almost burnt out, it's all been going on for so long, and he has found it quite difficult to concentrate on revision this weekend, especially when so many friends have finished.

Needmoresleep · 26/06/2016 23:45

It's much the same here. DD has been sitting exams for almost 2 months. Not helped by the fact she is ill with a high temperature. Too late to worry. She just wants to get to the end. Physics questions (in her case OCR B) are apparently really unpredictable, so she will to wait to see what examiners throw at her.

Thank you everyone for your support through this marathon. And I really hope it turns out that your DC have been overly pessimistic.

DD1 missed both her firm and insurance offers by 1 grade last year and both offered her a place, so fingers crossed for everyone

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 27/06/2016 10:41

S2 today went well thankfully, after a weekend of being quite ill Sad. ALL FINISHED NOW CakeWine Grin

Good luck for the last of the physics tomorrow (and still some FM?)

EllenJanethickerknickers · 27/06/2016 11:52

FP2 (OCR MEI) was weird, according to DS1. He says everyone found it hard so while he didn't quite complete it, he's hoping grade boundaries will be low.And only one more to go!

BethanKate · 27/06/2016 14:38

Really sorry about STEP 3 not going well snowy & for others who feel they've missed their offers. Hope they've all done better than they think.

Hope your DD feels better in time for Physics Needmore. DS wasn't well yesterday - the exhaustion I think.

FP3 (Edexcel) ok this morning he thinks.

Just OCR Physics tomorrow to go.

tropicalfish · 27/06/2016 14:55

my dd found s2 to be quite difficult. The questions were a bit unusual what did other people think?

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 27/06/2016 15:09

Q1 was AS stuff according to DD, who had an initial panic, and worked it out from scratch as she couldn't remember what to do from AS. Don't know about the rest, but if it was following the same pattern as all the other A2s, then it's quite likely to have been partly AS based, and partly "just about on the syllabus, but phrased in a peculiar way".

Fingers crossed for low grade boundaries!
