Follow on thread from the GCSE exams and proms thread. For hand holding and recommendations of wine/chocolate/biscuits to get through the post results stuff.

elvira I second your comment about comps. Ds school is /was considered the last choice comp in the area for many years, even when I sent ds it was just starting to change but when I look at the support they had throughout the exams compared to some of the others on these threads, study sessions of a weekend and every school holiday etc, I know I made the right choice and today is as much for the staff as for the kids.

IrianofWay · 20/08/2015 10:37

5 A *, 4 A and 1 B.

She's still in shock. So am I Grin

Well done everyone x

All passed! Very proud of her - especially about the B for Maths which was the one she took while an inpatient.

Ripeningapples · 20/08/2015 10:48

Phew. All good. 1st choice 6th form confirmed. We went straight there with the results slip. The Eng Lit which has caused so much soul searching was an A*. Hugely relieved and she says the stress has lifted from her.

Everything crossed for those still waiting.

HSMMaCM · 20/08/2015 10:49

DD has gone in to get hers. Loud music and no talking all the way here.

HSMMaCM · 20/08/2015 10:50

Wooly fantastic. Your DD had some real challenges during the exams. Well done her.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/08/2015 10:50

Yay! Of all the results posted here Woolly, that's the one that's making me tear up. You must be so incredibly proud of her.

SheGotAllDaMoves · 20/08/2015 10:51

Finally sorted.

Both DC got the grades they were hoping for so all good.

This might make some of you from the old thread smile. Remember RS and my DD's cavalier approach to making up bible quotes and 'sounding deep'. A*Grin.

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 10:51

Woolly! Amazing news. You must be so proud.
Ripening, the next chapter begins. So much good news here today.

Auntpetunia2015 · 20/08/2015 10:54

Woolley that's made my day even more than DS'S results.

shegot see he was right just make it up.

ono40 · 20/08/2015 11:02

Congratulations to all DCs today and especially to Woolly's DD for her maths, definitely made my day!

DS arrived back from Greece at 2am and was in school by 8.30am. He got 3A* and 8A much to everyone's surprise including his teachers. Just waiting to decide whether he is going out with mates or to grace us with his presence.

And relax.......Grin

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 11:04

Wow Ono! That's quite an achievement.
Still waiting here.

SugarPlumTree · 20/08/2015 11:05

BTM so pleased it had gone well and she's ok.

Shitmyhairdressersays DD has Dyspraxia too and it has been quite a struggle at times so know what you mean.

Errol I'm getting a feeling the English Language marks are lower than expected from a very unscientific read of results. Do you think school will be flexible about the EP?

Wooly please tell your DD her MN Aunts are very proud of her Smile

Sorry for those who are still waiting and fingers firmly crossed for good news.

Great results Nokidshere, Irian, Elvira and Headless .

Gloria bless her, so glad for her she's in.

By now there will be loads more posts so apologies for those I haven't seen yet.

I want to say a huge thank you to you all. It has been a very difficult year for us so far and you have all been so incredibly supportive. Looking forward to going through the trials and tribulations of 6th for with you .

Not much sleep had here as dh and (older) dd up at 4.30 for dd flight. Didn't go back to sleep. Woke ds at 7.45. He looked like he was readying himself for execution. Just deciding when to leave when shock email arrived from head congratulating ds on getting into 6th form. Think they sent it to him because he was one of few yr 11 not given unconditional offer after mocks. No fine details in email but trip into school somewhat easier. Turns out he passed all. Amazing. He deserves it. DS bought himself sweets, chocolate and fiery Doritos for post result brekkie!

QOD · 20/08/2015 11:10

2 x A*
7 x A
5 x B

Oh happy day!!! Grin

TinklyLittleLaugh · 20/08/2015 11:17

DD2 got 3A* and 8A. Bog standard comp, averagely crap. I am pretty proud.

Off to register at the very good, local selective sixth form college this afternoon. I predict she is going to fly.

Wow. Some fantastic results. DD failed one, but it won't affect her A level choices. She's particularly stoked about getting a C for French, which she found really hard.

bigTillyMint · 20/08/2015 11:22

Woolly, so pleased for your DD. And you!Wine

QOD, your DC did more than mine (she did 13!)

Fingers crossed for you Draylon.

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 11:22

HSM! A levels a go go!
Draylon. Sympathies. Is there a plan B?

bigTillyMint · 20/08/2015 11:23

Well done mini-HSM!

GinandJag · 20/08/2015 11:24
