Exactly as I predicted though English Language lower than I thought. She's got 4 so with her JLPT that gives her the 5 needed.

Will need to resist Maths but did get a D which was an improvement on mocks. She's gone to see Head of 6th form so will need to wait a bit as the Maths resist impacts on options.

Bloody hell that was close. She did get an A in Japanese which is lovely .

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 09:33

AuntP and Sugarplum, great stuff.
Hope your DC are feeling good. What a journey this has been!

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 09:39

Oh no! And I was thinking drama was our one guaranteed A.....there was fuss about it last year too I think?

Savagebeauty · 20/08/2015 09:42

All enrolled in sixth form by 9.15.
History, geography, politics and economics.
Blimey.

bigTillyMint · 20/08/2015 09:43

Just had the call and we are delighted with the resultsSmile

Congratulations to all with the results they wanted!

Well done to your DD SPT, especially with the A in Japanese - I can't imagine how hard it must be to get an A in Japanese!

AuntP, that's great!

Fingers crossed for all of you still waiting.

Auntpetunia2015 · 20/08/2015 09:44

sugar brilliant news. Her Japanese score is fab. oddboots I don't understand the score but he's happy. His course work and practical gave him an A* so can only think something went spectacular wrong to end with a C school are talking about appealing but we can talk about that tomorrow. Today I'm just thrilled for him 10 gcses is amazing.

WitchOfAlba · 20/08/2015 09:44

A* Eng. Lit, A in English and Maths and triple science :) 6th form place confirmed :)

Auntpetunia2015 · 20/08/2015 09:45

BTM fabulous

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 09:47

DD has gone in for her results. I feel sick - waiting in the car with DH.

Fairenuff · 20/08/2015 09:55

Ds is through to sixth form and very happy with his results Smile

Fingers crossed for those still waiting to hear.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/08/2015 09:55

DH took DD in for 9:30. He just called to say she's not contacted him yet. Hmm

Well done to those that have their results - sounds like mostly big sighs of relief so far!

ellaballoo · 20/08/2015 09:57

DD in Y10 so is only picking up 2 today and we have to wait until 12.
Making bread to pass the time.
Well done to everyone .

spudmasher · 20/08/2015 09:58

Soup dragon and Farienuff....mission accomplished! And relax!

Ginandtonictime · 20/08/2015 10:01

For gods sake - of all mornings to blocked from MN! Been trying to log on since 8am!

We've got them!
A: Maths, History, Geog, Physics and Chemistry
B: Eng Lit & Lang, Biology, German and RS (short course)
C: Classics

Both English Lit&Lang were 4 marks off an A so we're having them remarked - Biology 5 or 6 marks off an A so that's a bit more of a stretch, but we're going for the remark anyway (worse that can happen is it stays a B).

Finally ... I can breathe out!

Congrats to everyone else and hold tight those still waiting ...

Flowers Flowers Flowers Flowers Flowers Flowers

SoupDragon · 20/08/2015 10:04

I'm glad none warrant the worry of a re-mark so we can just file it away under Job Done and move on now. Some were a few marks off the higher grade but not worth the risk of dropping any marks to take them down a grade.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/08/2015 10:11

She just phoned - a mix of some disappointing and some excellent (A^ in FM Grin). She's done well in the subjects that matter to her, except B in Eng Lang - they're supposed to get an A to be allowed to do an EPQ, and the idea was she'd do one on some sort of electronics project to make up for them dropping the A level systems&control.

Shitmyhairdressersays · 20/08/2015 10:18

Well done to everyone whose DC have got the results they want! Star

I am waiting for DS and his DF to go and get his.

He won't be anywhere near the grades that seem to be so expected these days. In fact he won't get anywhere near a C in most but DS is severely Dyspraxic and up until a few years ago was unlikely to pass any GCSEs so any grade is positive for him.

A few years back I didn't expect to be able to even take part in a thread about GCSE results so this is quite something for me.

GloriaSmud · 20/08/2015 10:21

DD was so nervous (and in tears as well) that we had to look at the results for her! But it looks like she's in the 6th form ~ 2Bs, 3Cs, 3Ds and an E for maths so she'll have to resit that and a grade for ICT is still to come through.
So A-level Geography, History and English Lang/Literature combined here we come!
Is it too early for Wine?

headlesslambrini · 20/08/2015 10:23

5Bs, 2Cs and still waiting his ICT grade - some technical glitch, overachieved from his predicted grades in 6 subjects - OMG

ElviraCondomine · 20/08/2015 10:23

Just had the phone call.

B in Music
A in English Lit
A* in Eng Lang, French, Spanish, History, Maths, RE, Triple Science, and her independent project.

Which just proves that Bog Standard Comps (the only high school in our town, genuinely comprehensive!) can do wonders!

So proud of her. She's in the 6th form building filling all her final options forms in. (And I'm trying not to stress her by asking about the B... may see if it merits looking at again.)

Shitmyhairdressersays · 20/08/2015 10:26

Well done everyone!

Is the ICT glitch a national thing? ICT is one of the few subjects DS might actually pass so it's a bit of a fucker if they haven't got the results of that yet.
