Only another week to go for DD, but I know some of you have two weeks.

DD just said to me 'there is no guilt attached to being on my phone any more. I'm not meant to be doing something else.'

Thanks for all the support, this thread has been amazingly helpful. Thanks Have a nice summer everybody and hope to see you all on the results thread in August.

Horsemad · 12/06/2015 17:09

Waaah, I'm getting all emotional at you all finishing today!!
Physics was 'OK' Hmm. We are now down to the last one (History) on Tuesday.

Have had internet probs this afternoon and was getting quite ratty I couldn't check in Shock. Luckily genius computer techy DD1 managed to sort it, so all calm and happy again.

Congrats to the finishers, enjoy your Summer Smile

Horsemad · 12/06/2015 17:11

DS1 I mean - no daughters here!

tbtc · 12/06/2015 17:18

Star Star Star to all the kids who have finished!

...and breathe......

2 more to go here, but terribly spaced out so he doesn't need to be doing all day revision, but can't relax either - possibly worse than just being in the midst of them all.

Fairenuff · 12/06/2015 17:35

Errol my dd did an EPQ and it was so worth it. She got a lower offer from her first choice uni because she got an A on her EPQ. But I would say get it done in Year 12 so it doesn't interfere with A2 revision.

funambulist · 12/06/2015 17:36

Just got home. DS1 had his last exam (Physics) today. It's probably one of his three weakest subjects, so I was a bit nervous about it being the last one as it would be a shame to end on a low.

He hasn't given me any details other than, "It was okay." In the circumstances that's definitely enough for me.

Unfortunately his close friends still have a few to go so he isn't out celebrating but I suspect he has plans for long lie-ins, mindless internet use and we definitely need to do another shopping trip as he's already grown out of the trousers I bought him in the Easter holidays.

Good luck to all those whose children still have exams to go and best of luck for the results. I hope everyone gets what they need to go onto the next stage.

poppym12 · 12/06/2015 18:05

Apparently, this afternoon's physics was 'good'. starting to wonder if he went into the exam at all as physics isn't a strong one

Lovely to hear so many have now finished. One of each science left here for next week (confused as to why some have finished now? Different board maybe?).

LineRunner · 12/06/2015 18:06

Different boards, poppy.

Another week to go here.

TheCheeseAlarm · 12/06/2015 18:29

Edexcel Physics 2 was 'fine' and no surprise controlled assessment after it today.

He has a Biology revision session tomorrow morning which he thinks might be useful as he doesn't get on with Biology. He can't believe it will be over in a week. He is being packed off to stay with his grandma and grandpa for a bit for relaxation and general spoiling when he finishes.

trader21c · 12/06/2015 18:38

Physics over now just further maths next week - she's sprawled on the sofa playing weird music and watching netflix all at the same time! Lots of her friends finished today so feel a bit sorry for her but at least she doesn't have to do wall-to-wall revision

ErrolTheDragon · 12/06/2015 18:42

Mine is waiting for DH to finish his dinner so we can watch a few episodes of Enterprise. She admitted that it was bad of her but she was rather pleased that it's forecast to be rainy tomorrow as she's still got more exams to go. Though surely she can't spend all weekend doing FM past papers?

Kbear · 12/06/2015 18:45

History question.... might have been mentioned before so sorry if it has... but my DD did Edexel history - two papers... my friend's DD did Edexel history - three papers, last one being next Tuesday I think...

??

ono40 · 12/06/2015 18:45

According to Twitter AQA Physics had a typo (it gave the wrong Units) making it impossible to work out the answer! Hey ho, it is all over and I have survived. I am not thinking about August and results day.

Good luck everyone xxx

Horsemad · 12/06/2015 19:23

ono40, was that the A level Physics paper? DS1 sat it yesterday and we heard about the typo later on.

simbo · 12/06/2015 19:37

We're all done now. I got a "wasn't too bad" from dd re physics. Thanks to whoever suggested taking a photo of her in her uniform for the last ever time. DH has put it on facebook with her ist day at primary alongside. So sweet - back then. She seems to have no plans for the next few weeks and I think is secretly dreading having no reason to get up. I think she may even get a job.

LynetteScavo · 12/06/2015 20:15

DS said Biology (OCR) was easy...easier than the last paper...he couldn't answer the last question on that paper

LynetteScavo · 12/06/2015 20:41

Meanwhile I'm being hassled by PE teacher for Btec coursework...which should have been handed in today but wasn't. Cue borderline abusive, and very upsetting email from PE teacher which I quickly forwarded to head of PE and HOY. I will be responding to it once I've recovered, ie Monday morning.
I get that it's his job to get kids the highest grade possible in one subject but it's also my job to get my son the highest grade possible in all subjects he's taking.

So DS has fucked messed up Btec sport.

But DS is not bothered. He says he wouldn't be putting it on his CV anyway.

I wish I'd pulled him out of the course altogether at Christmas. Live and learn.

DS remains level headed, calm and reasonably happy. Only 4 more exams to go. Smile

needmorespace · 12/06/2015 20:53

Simbo
Last day for my dd today as well with physics.
During exams, she has been able to go non uniform but I took a picture of her last proper day in school uniform back in May.
I can't believe today is her last day of 'big' school - where did that time go. Feel quite weepy about it actually.
I know she'll still be at the same school for sixth form. But it feels different.
She has turned into a very special young person and it feels like a milestone today.

HSMMaCM · 12/06/2015 20:54

I took a last day in uniform picture of DD this morning and her skirt is definitely too short ??.

Bearleigh · 12/06/2015 21:09

Awww to everyone with last exams, and last real days wearing uniform.

DS just had physics too - said it was OK. I don't know which board he's taking but the answe to the last question he made 666, and last year one answer was 69, so one examiner has a sense of humour. DS has Latin & 2x Further Maths next week. A week today it's all done. He is also an Oxbridge hopeful.

doglover · 12/06/2015 21:10

One more week here too :( Media, Biology, Chemistry, History and Physics.

Can't WAIT for this time next week .........

Ashbeeee · 12/06/2015 21:19

tbtc that's not a boast, that's fab!

And linerunner yes the daily wail may well do that but they can sod right off, the slimy, sensationalist bastards. Ooh I feel better for that.

DD has had a lovely no exam day, Lounging around in onesie with boyf whilst easting chocolate. Then she cooked us a Thai green curry. Then we danced in the garden in the torrential thunder rain. Lovely, precious moments Grin

Happy weekend everyone Grin

HSMMaCM · 12/06/2015 21:25

I was an Oxbridge candidate ... Dreamy days. Went for my interview ... Dismounted a horse head first and never went. I have completed an OU degree recently though, so whatever happens, don't worry.

simbo · 12/06/2015 22:53

And on that note... very wise point, HSM, everything is your education, and it doesn't have to be now. Wasted on the young anyway.

canny1234 · 12/06/2015 22:54

Congratulations to all who've finished and commiserations to those who haven't.My dd has been brilliant over the exam period - calm and laid back.I am really proud of her.Even more so because she's spent the afternoon sorting out flights for us as we missed our plane due to a lorry completely blocking the M56 today.
