Feeling refreshed after weekend away. The D of E expedition might be a nice break WordFactory.

DD has another mock today.

The French oral went really well - no mess ups.

bigTillyMint · 20/04/2015 13:30

TWF, glad your DD is OK with the timing of the DOE - mine would have had a complete meltdown! Not that she does DOE...

She seemed happy with the amount of revision she has done over the weekend - quite a bit, but with friends, mainly in the library!

dingit · 20/04/2015 15:54

Dd has just come home with some mock results. English Lit A ( just)- her worst subject, chemistry A, and Biology A ( one mark off A *)
It's keeping her confident, just off to Maths tutor in a minute!

ErrolTheDragon · 20/04/2015 16:12

She should be please with that, dingit! Smile

HSMMaCM · 20/04/2015 16:13

Great results dingit

That's great dingit!

TheWordFactory · 20/04/2015 17:48

Go dingit DD.

A nice clutch of decent mock results are just the ticket to boost confidence Smile.

DS clearly enjoyed school today and said AS revision (he's doing one alongside his GCSEs) was particularly useful.

DD text to say her group are doing great but sun burned!

dingit · 20/04/2015 19:16

What AS subject is he doing Word?
It's a lovely day for your dd to be enjoying the fresh air.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/04/2015 19:24

Bit of a change in the weather since the practice not long ago, word!

Fairenuff · 20/04/2015 19:27

Great results for your dd dingbat, lovely to have a confidence boost Smile

auntpetunia · 20/04/2015 22:17

Well done Dingit's DD those are great results, well back to school here and DS is buzzing mock English they did before break up A*, Rs B, so hes very happy. No revision tonight we've had a Scout meeting about Japan so that suddenly seems very real. 1st exam is 11th May!!!

Fairenuff · 20/04/2015 22:25

Sorry dingit, just realised I called you dingbat Blush

Well done to your ds too auntp

SugarPlumTree · 21/04/2015 03:42

Excellent news Dingit, she has done well.

Not much revision going on here. DD very tired and run down and the ulcer on her tonsil is huge. Just focusing on getting her feeling better at moment.

auntpetunia · 21/04/2015 06:26

Can I ask how much extra time school are providing for revision? DS has an after school time table of 2 additional lessons every day, I compulsory core and then one subject which is dependant in how they are doing, poor ds and mates seem to have lots of extra geography. They aren't actually stopping school from what I can make out, they will go in everyday around the exams, need to find out if they stop once exams actually start.

Got to give school credit as incentive from today if they attend evening session they can wear their own clothes and from 3 till 3:20,they get fed pizza and drinks to keep them going.

dingit · 21/04/2015 07:11

No after school revision for dd.

I am a bit of a Dingbat!

Aunt P, is your DS going on the scout trip?

Sugar, custard powder is good for ulcers!

bigTillyMint · 21/04/2015 07:46

SugarPlum, sending her get-well vibes.

After a weekend of revising, DD lost the plot at school yesterday and did nothing last night either. Hoping she can get back on it today.

AuntP, DD's school put on loads of revision sessions - after school and at the weekend. I don't think any are compulsory and the students choose what they go to.
No study leave mentioned here yet either, but DD is going to need it if she is to survive!

TheWordFactory · 21/04/2015 11:38

Get well soon sugar DD.

Dingit it's maths AS level that DS is doing (he's already sat his iGCSE).

DD text tis morning and said they all slept like logs Grin after a hearty dinner of Super Noodles and Cheesy Wotsits! Up and off early, hoping to get this last leg finished by 4pm. Then home.

dingit · 21/04/2015 13:51

That's the same as my dd Word. Is he doing it at A level?

TheWordFactory · 21/04/2015 14:10

That's the plan dingit... obviously depends how he does.

TheWordFactory · 21/04/2015 14:12

Pressed too soon.

The plan is for Maths/FM/Economics/French/Spanish (the last two would be pre-u).

What about your DD?

dingit · 21/04/2015 14:19

Maths, physics, chemistry and graphic design.

HydrochloricTulip · 21/04/2015 14:39

Gcse art part one today, eeek! Roll on the end of the day..

TheWordFactory · 21/04/2015 14:46

Hope all goes well tulip

dingit · 21/04/2015 14:58

Tulip, my dd was very tired after her Art, it's a long day.

TeenAndTween · 21/04/2015 15:00

Tulip Hope the art goes well.
DD has her last MFL CA today, and her drama performance tomorrow.

Then we collapse in a heap. Grin

Bag for prom ordered. Now just need necklace &roll-up ballet flats for if heels kill, and ?transport.

It's hard advising on revision strategy when we don't know for certain when they are on study leave, or what they are actually going to do in class for the next 3 weeks.

DD has been doing English revision sessions after school, but not bothering with maths or science as I can do them with her 1-1.

Fantastic mock results dingit
