Well, I filled up the other one, so here's a nice new one to get us through dropping subjects, Uni open days, personal statement writing, and UCAS applications Grin

Plenty of Wine and Brew and (nicely-intentioned) Biscuits available!

Oh I know [puts head in hands]. ds seems likely to be doing some A levels under new 'system' and some under old. Oh my....

webwiz · 29/10/2014 19:34

Offer from York for DS - AAA seems lovely and low compared to the Exeter madness!

MrsBartlet · 29/10/2014 19:41

Excellent, webwiz. Well done to your ds!

fairycakes333 · 29/10/2014 21:29

Well done Mrs B we a bit worried this end Bath has asked for proof of all dd module grades /ums this was after dd emailed them about her remark changes on 1 module. Hope she's not disadvantaged by it as I would have thought most kids would maybe put the grades but not the ums.

AtiaoftheJulii · 29/10/2014 21:38

Well done webwiz's ds Halloween Grin

Thanks all DS is very pleased - I think I was being annoying and stressy yesterday and DS was glad that I was working today. I need to pace myself or I won't last till August!

cathyandclaire · 29/10/2014 22:30

Well done Webwiz's DS! Great news, great Uni and a lovely place to visit too!

summerdip · 29/10/2014 22:50

my DS has a history of SEN which he has overcome but we wanted to state this on uni form to help with some areas. We've been told individual courses are not told about info. on form- which we would prefer because we do not want discrimination. Any knowledge about this out there?

MrsBartlet · 30/10/2014 06:16

Thanks mumslife. Dd has had lots of headaches, too which the doctor has said are tension headaches. Ironically, what she gets stressed about is missing school as she is feeling unwell and then she makes herself more unwell.

hellsbells99 · 30/10/2014 08:02

DD has got an interview at Cardiff! She is so chuffed Smile.
Now I will probably get slated for asking this on MN looking at another thread but do I go with her? She is away at the moment so I haven't had chance to discuss it. It says parents are invited as they will do tours and talks etc as well as the actual interview. I have never been to Cardiff, as she went to the open day on the train with a friend, so I would like to go - but will it be seen as a negative by the uni. Or if she goes on her own, would she be the only one - in which case that would knock her confidence.

Horsemad · 30/10/2014 08:12

Congrats hellsbells! I'd go, but that's me!!! Grin

I have a year 11 ds Littleham and Lalsy so I'll join you in going through it all again too. Only next time I will be a lot more clued up Grin

hellsbells I visited Cardiff last Saturday and it's a great place for a tour, I would definitely go if dd is happy for you to go. (She can always ditch you on the day and go with the other students if she prefers that and you can sit separately for talks and tours).

MrsBartlet · 30/10/2014 09:20

Great news hellsbells. I would go too - if they are putting on tours etc for the parents they must be expecting them.

That sounds great! I think I will go if DD1 wants me to. I also get the chance to see if it it suitable for DD2 to apply to next year well that is my excuse

Mindgone · 30/10/2014 10:55

Either DH or I always went with DS1 to interviews. In our experience (with 2 different subjects) the vast majority of students had parents with them. I think it could be quite lonely and scary going off to a strange city for an interview, especially their first one. Of course, on the other hand, it's not always possible, or wanted! We had some really nice days out, and were able to discuss it all thoroughly on the way home.
Well done to your DD Hellsbells! :)
