Ok. DS1 has broken up for Easter and we now have to all accept that this is it. He has been doing dribs and drabs since mocks in February and an hour- ish in the evenings of stuff set by teachers.

Nowhere near what I remember doing for my o'levels a million miles ago. Friends tell me their kids are doing nothing yet. Not sure I believe them though!

Waiting for reality to kick in with him but he still seems to be treating it all like an end of topic test in class!

What's happening in your house? Are you staying well out of it or like me walking round waving a CGP guide 24/7!!!!!

DD say Eng lit and Geography (people), went well. She has just rang to say she didn't need her extra time and so will be in time for the bus.

Horray fetching her is one less job this evening.

MorvahRising · 22/05/2014 15:38

DS also happy with geography and Eng Lit, although one of the case study questions was apparently a choice between Bangladesh and Boscastle which are his two least favourite ones! He said he thinks he winged it, but then he always says that!

MissScatterbrain · 22/05/2014 16:51

I have been on edge today so its good to hear both exams went well. My DC is happy too about how these went although the OCR paper has definitely changed in that they had to do the topics given (i,e no choices).

History tomorrow morning.

pigsinmud · 22/05/2014 17:14

English Lit was ok. History tomorrow.

OYBBK - I can't decide. After half term he has music, 3 maths exams and english language spread over 3 weeks, so I was thinking it was ok to give it to him. Plus it will be on the main computer so I know he won't be up all night. PLUS, I don't really have anything else for his birthday! He couldn't come up with any ideas.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/05/2014 17:50

tricky decision!

If OCR geography, DD thought today's paper was much better.

Glad it is half term though! DD only has one exam (English) in the week after half term, then another busy week after that.

ds said geog (AQA) was harder than paper 1 and he struggled to write enough on the ageing population question. Was annoyed one of his eco settlement case studies didn't come up and when his environmental tourism one (Kenya) didn't come up he decided to mention it anyway in a 4 mark question.

Was very happy with English Lit (AQA poetry) Thank goodness there is a week's grace

Agggghast · 22/05/2014 19:19

From the feedback from pupils the AQA lit was a lovely paper, especially the Higher. Nothing to trip pupils up, so all had the opportunity to do well.

Best1sWest · 22/05/2014 19:36

DS happy with WJEC English lit too.

MrsMaturin · 22/05/2014 20:12

dd happy with English here too. Thank goodness! History and textiles for us tomorrow.....

AtiaoftheJulii · 22/05/2014 23:54

Yep, dd2 was happy with English too :-) phew :-) History tomorrow, then it's just one History paper left and maths and sciences. Looking forward to half term :-)

hellsbells99 · 23/05/2014 00:06

DD2 thought AQA geography was better than paper 1 but wjec Eng lit was awful! Looking forward to half-term then only 4 exams left :)

sausagedog12 · 23/05/2014 05:25

Only 4 exams left after half term, Computer science and sciences. No maths as done last year. DS can start to relax now having a large bulk of exams in first two weeks. History today then roll on bank holiday weekend!!

MorvahRising · 23/05/2014 06:09

We've still got 11 to go after half term, all the maths and sciences, Eng Lang and Res Mat. History today. DS can't wait for an evening off tonight. I have a funny feeling his parcel is going to arrive today!

nostress · 23/05/2014 07:05

DS's GF was much happier after this lit paper and had a big smile. DS was a bit quiet but said it was ok. So i pushed a little. He then said it was better than the first paper because 'at least I finished it' but he found it really boring so he doesnt think it was very creative.

Leavers assembly today! Although they are going back for sixth form!

eatyourveg · 23/05/2014 07:48

Leavers day/shirt signing here too although back for speech day early July

There is a plot to draw fake eyebrows on ds with the marker pens. Worried that scrubbing off the ink will just pull off whats left of them. Am fully expecting to get an email from school to say ds threw a punch at someone but we've told him, if he needs to, then we won't be angry. Hope it does't spoil his last day.

MissScatterbrain · 23/05/2014 08:30

Had a bit of a spat with DC for not revising history yesterday evening - DC is far too laidback about the whole thing Hmm

mumthetaxidriver · 23/05/2014 09:17

Leavers assembly after History then off to park with friends to play football this afternoon. We are all feeling relaxed but reality may kick in next week - he still has another 10 to do having done 13 already! I personally am looking forward to a break. Eatyourveg - does your son have an exam he is very stressed about today or is it the eyebrow situation worrying him?

eatyourveg · 23/05/2014 09:31

No exam mumthetaxi purely the eyebrow situation and the fact that his friends have told him they intend "rectifying" the situation by drawing all over his face. Its the rubbing off making him even balder he's worried about most. Being asd any form of tactile encounter is a no-no, even hugs are strictly on his initiation so he may lash out even if they don't manage to put any ink on him. I don't think the impending change that comes with leaving school and moving on to college helps either. ds1 has his last uni exam today so will be home tonight and we're celebrating ds2's 18th so hopefully a good weekend ahead Smile

mumthetaxidriver · 23/05/2014 09:53

Ah I understand now eatyourveg why that would really upset him - poor lad. You must be worried for too him. Lets hope this is the worst case scenario and his friends see sense. You certainly have a lovely weekend to look forward to - enjoy Smile

AtiaoftheJulii · 23/05/2014 11:16

Hope everything goes ok and his friends are a bit more understanding x

And hope everyone's History goes well today! Roll on half term!

Nocomet · 23/05/2014 11:36

Drama here today.
AKA a sodding spelling test, according to DD1, who normally a cowers the paper for useful words, but can't when it's all specific to their choice of plays.

Nocomet · 23/05/2014 11:37

Scours (I'm dyslexic too)
