Shocked by what came home with ds1 today.....

A piece of A4 paper detailing every subject across the top and the score each by got in each subject in the exam...
On the reverse side the effort grades in the same format ...each boy/ each subject

On the end of each line is the boys position in the class again for effort and attainment.

I could therefore look and see how each child did in each subject - how hard they tried and their position in the class of 25 for both effort and attainment

I would complain to the school straight away, I don't care if my child was top in every subject and a bloody genius no other parent has any right to be seeing any of his results.

I wouldn't like that TBH. Think I would be tempted to register my complaints with the school as well.

Wow. This type of thing was done when I taught in a secondary school in many diff ways but never ever given out to the whole class for such public comparison and disection. Very surprised. What year group?

Agree that it does seem more like a sheet meant for class teachers or a form teacher, rather than for pupils and parents.

We received DS1's first report from secondary school last week. In a number of subjects, his class position was given, but no details about what other boys achieved or where they came in the class. In some subjects DS1's exam score was compared with the class average, but that was the only information.

I'd be furious if my child's scores and class position in each subject were given to all parents - and their children. Just think of the potential for humiliation and bullying.

At the grammar school here they never ever get class positions - just mark and grade.

Golly. Shocked that he got the sheet home, but even more shocked that it wasn't an error which was deffo my first thought!!
