Mine too.

joanofarchitrave · 03/03/2012 21:51

I sure hope so.

OddBoots · 03/03/2012 21:53

Mine's already there and his sister is likely to follow. I couldn't be happier with it.

Mine is already there.

cece · 03/03/2012 21:55

Mine too and I am sure she will thrive there. As I did when I attended my bog standard comprehensive back in the 1980s. Smile

Sposh · 03/03/2012 21:56

Mine did, but I pulled them both out and appealed successfully for places elsewhere a few months later. Some of their friends are doing brilliantly there though.

It's probably worth adding for your peace of mind here that it turned out that our local bog standard comp was the battleground for the inner city gangland warfare.

RiversideMum · 03/03/2012 21:56

My DCs are at the local bog standard comp too!

Sparklingbrook · 03/03/2012 21:56

DH and I also went to the local bog standard comp. Grin

sassyTHEFIRST · 03/03/2012 21:58

Hey sparkling, I teach there...and can assure you there is nowt big standard about me Wink

Sparklingbrook · 03/03/2012 22:00

To be fair Sassy it's the only local comp. Grin

BackforGood · 03/03/2012 22:13

What Ruby sad. That really is the norm not that you'd think so, reading MN Smile

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 03/03/2012 22:15

Mines only 6 months old, but I sure hope he does and that I don't turn into tiger mother when he hits puberty

BehindLockNumberNine · 03/03/2012 22:16

Mine is in his second year at the local bog standard comp. And he is doing well and is happy.
His sister will follow him there in a few years.

We are happy with it, as are many of our friends who have dc there Smile

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 03/03/2012 22:16

Mine's

Don't want anyone thinking they don't teach grammar at these bog standard schools

droitwichmummy · 03/03/2012 22:16

Mine will (waves to sparkling and sassy)

Sparklingbrook · 03/03/2012 22:18

Quite right too. Grin

bibbityisaporker · 03/03/2012 22:18

Mine dd is going to a bog standard comp a short bus ride away because the two really very good comps that are closer to where we live are oversubscribed to the point of insanity! Ah, the joys of London living. However, I liked the school when we were given the tour and I'm secretly pleased she's going to an all girls school but don't tell anyone.

Voidka · 03/03/2012 22:18

He is if I can find my council tax bill!

ChickensHaveNoLips · 03/03/2012 22:20

I aspire to live somewhere where the bog standard comp isn't a failing crime pit. But as it is, I am very pleased that DS got a place at a just out of catchment good state school.

TalkinPeace2 · 03/03/2012 22:21

I fought tooth and nail to get mine into a comp

cocolepew · 03/03/2012 22:22

My Dd is in her 3rd year there and DD2 follows in a couple of years.

It's been fabulous for her.

GnomeDePlume · 03/03/2012 22:26

We have a Hobson's choice of one bit crap in and out of special meaures mediocre comp.

DD1 hopes to leave at the end of this year to go to somewhere better for A levels.

startail · 04/03/2012 01:41

DD1 is already there, DD2 refused to do the 11+ so she'll be there next year too!

Sensible distance, sensible work load, pretty reasonable pastoral care, lots of music and art and reasonable results if they are prepared to work.

Pusheed · 04/03/2012 01:46

Mine isn't. Woo hoo!!! :o
