Hi
Apologies if this has been done this year, but I found a similar thread very supportive when DD started the exam treadmill (not at Uni) and we are about to start again with DS.

Milliboy is 15, late Summer baby so cannot get a job until the end of the Summer hols, when they will have all gone. Good news is - this gives him more revision time Grin

He is at a boys selective Grammar school, so the pressure is on to achieve. He also wants to aim for a decent Uni so understands that good GCSE grades are vital.

Still doesn't make the whole process any easier for him or me :)

Who else has boarded the 2011 Exam Express?

Boswellia, 13 years? I can raise you 18 consecutive years of public exams assuming youngest DC does only a three year degree Sad

boswellia · 22/06/2011 23:45

haha Yellowstone, you win!

(I think I'm laughing because anything else makes me a little numb...)

Yellowstone · 22/06/2011 23:53

Not at all sure I want to win bos.

I worked it out on a piece of A4 and it's true....

boswellia · 22/06/2011 23:55

yes, it's a bit like 1st prize a week's holiday, 2nd prize is 2 weeks' holiday...

If you don't mind me asking, how fat into the 18 years are you at the mo?

boswellia · 22/06/2011 23:56

far, not fat! (darn!)

Yellowstone · 23/06/2011 00:00

5 Sad Sad Sad. Botox?

boswellia · 23/06/2011 00:10

Well I'm half hoping although it may be unrealistic that they'll help each other along... do you find that with yours?

MABS · 23/06/2011 08:28

she is actually out of bed as I am taking her shopping!

Milliways · 23/06/2011 16:24

Happy Days! DS finished his last exam yesterday, and today he has (whilst I was at work) completely cleared & tidied his room, and made huge piles of books to recycle etc. I cannot complain about the current noise from the playstation :)

That must be a great feeling Milliways and others! My DS still has 2 left on Monday, Stats and German. But feels like we're almost there now - can see the light...

Milliways · 23/06/2011 17:46

Yes, Good luck to those who still have papers left - it's been a long haul!

OP posts:
mumblechum1 · 23/06/2011 17:48

Nope. Absolutely precisely the same position on the sofa in his room surrounded by wrappers, hands glued to PS3 controller, he and his mate with glazed expressions as for the last six weeks.

MABS · 23/06/2011 17:53

your ds and my dd could be twins :(

magnolia74 · 23/06/2011 17:56

GCSEs finally over...hurrah! DS thought the Stats and German went well today. Good luck to all those DC finishing off tomorrow. Thanks to Milliways for starting the thread - it's been great to have the support Smile

balia · 27/06/2011 21:13

Yes thank goodness it is finally over. Stats was the last one for DD, too, and she said it was 'fine'. DD now has a week off before bridging week at her college and then flies off to NZ (sob).

And now we all wait...

t0lk13n · 27/06/2011 21:37

Last one tomorrow....AQA Physics.
X

zlaya · 27/06/2011 21:52

Last one tomorrow Chemistry, then it's all done X

JelliBelli · 27/06/2011 23:00

DD also finished today with Stats and German. Oh what a relief to all!

Apparently she's tidying her room tomorrow Shock. I am not holding my breath though!

Have a good summer all and I'll look out for a new thread as Aug 2?th rolls round.

MABS · 28/06/2011 07:31
