Peter Murrell is in court in Edinburgh today. This is for the preliminary hearing which was postponed from before the election. It will be interesting to see how the criminal proceedings proceed.

Who do you think they should have voted for?

Motheranddaughter · 04/06/2026 13:05

I see Douglas Chapman has issued an interesting statement
This is so not over

Sean Clerkin has also been back to the police. Radio Scotland reporting the police have confirmed they have received a complaint and their financial crime officers will be contacting him.

TipsyLaird · 04/06/2026 13:26

Sean Clerkin is a total roaster but has done a good job of continuing to raise this issue.

Sean Clerkin of the "English out of Scotland" banners? Between that and AS, the bar is low on this thread for people who think they are "feminists".

TipsyLaird · 04/06/2026 13:34

Yes, total roaster. But you can be anti-English and a total roaster, but also have done a good job in keeping at Police Scotland to take your concerns seriously. It's called nuance. Or having a multi-faceted personality. Most of us are smart enough to realise people are not one dimensional.

I would disagree with that as you all have made Nicola one dimensional throughout the thread.

I actually forgot to add Wings over Bath.

Low bars here.

I can't tell you who those idiots should have voted for - suggest you ask one of them.

4th

Third. Reform and Labour got the same number of seats. So they were joint second.

I know you misunderstand PR in particular D'Hondt, a lot of people do.

It's actually a very fair system as the results are that parties get the % of seats = to the % of votes. Unlike FPTP where winner takes it all even if the winner is only voted by a third of the electorate.

But you aren't 4th when two other parties are joint second. You are third.

Differentforgirls · 04/06/2026 14:30

Just to add, if we had FPTP, the SNP would have an overwhelming majority Govt at the moment. Be careful what you wish for everyone, especially when you don't understand what that is.

SirChenjins · 04/06/2026 14:43

I stand corrected - the Green idiots were 3rd (with far fewer votes than the Tories, Lib Dems, Labour and Reform - showing exactly what the country thinks of them).

I understand PR, so you can rest easy. I also understand that it gives us a Govt which doesn't represent the majority of the votes from Scottish people. What FPTP would do is irrelevant.

Doubling down but proving that you don’t understand PR. Google it. 👍

Plus explain why Labour are in Govt in the Uk with a third of the vote. Ta.

It is now evident that the issues of corruption within the SNP and thus the Scottish Government, go far beyond the embezzlement

Im glad it’s now being properly called out

The biggest problem imo with the voting system is that individuals get elected by being party loyalists whose loyalties are to the party, who put them top of the list, rather than to voters, who may not have voted for them if they understood the personal views of the individuals involved.
