How are you enjoying the 'UK' heatwave?

Every time I open a news app the lead story is about the UK heatwave. As usual this is actually just an English heatwave. Down south it might be hot, hot, hot but up here it's not, not, not.

Currently 14C feels like 10C here in the Kingdom of Fife. It was pishing it down with rain when I got up. I have even popped the central heating on for an hour to take the chill off the house.

PS - lighthearted 😜

London, and loving the heat. I sleep really well in this weather.

Never mind rhe weather, has no one asked why the Scottish kids are off school now as the summer holidays start in mid July??

We've got the heating on at the moment and I sleep with my electric blanket on.

No heatwave in Argyll, although it's not raining for once.

Mine aren’t off yet so must be practically English 😂

I’m from Portsmouth. DS lives here with me.

He returned yesterday from a week in Edinburgh.

He was commenting about how it’s got so hot - I did point out it’s been like that all week and he was very far north from where we live!

33c here. Very glad it's going to be cooler tomorrow.

I have also just popped the central heating on for an hour or so to warm up the bedroom. It's raining here now in SW Scotland and certainly not warm outside - about 15 degrees. Better than 35 degrees, though!

Too bloody hot, I’ve just sat in a bath of cold water and ice cubes. Hot weather is great but only when you have air con xx

Heating is on for an hour to take the chill off the house and sat with a hot water bottle on my feet.

it's been 36 in London today and unpleasant, very sweaty, this is not normal British weather, my elderly mother hasn't been able to go outside today or yesterday, I am in lounge this evening windows and back door open, fan on , still sweating, haven't slept properly for last couple of nights, this is climate heating and it's scary

Enjoying it? FFS. I can't wait for it to be over. I had the worst night ever last night. Despite having my tower fan blasting on me all night,I felt like I was being boiled. It was 32 degrees in my bedroom,at 3 am. Sleep in a cool room,say the experts. You'll sleep much better. If only. I don't hate warm weather,but I DO hate boiling hot weather. Anything over 25 degrees is too much for me. And it's not helped by the media keep banging on about how we're all enjoying it. Some presenter on the radio last night said 'Yeah, OK,it's been quite warm over the last few days'. Quite warm? I nearly threw my radio across the room.

Don't bother it's not much better here. I am struggling to cope. Heat here is too much 😖

33 in the Highlands yesterday. So sweaty overnight. I don't mind it too much as means we can swim in the lochs for a cool down!

Struggled in the week of 30 degrees that we had in 2018 as was in the city with no water to swim in.

Spent four days in Aberdeen at a swim meet. The aircon was broken and I have no idea how a large number of people didn’t take unwell. The heat was incredible. Glad to be back home where it was slightly cooler!
