@tigger1001 thanks for that explanation. I never knew how that stuff worked but I did wonder if they'd tipped off the police

It's just a possibility of what's happened. Could also explain why they are stepping away now as auditors. The money laundering rules are complex but if there was any suspicion when undertaking the audit there are clear rules to follow, otherwise the staff themselves can face legal action. But as soon as someone is suspicious that there are breaches, then they cannot tip the client off.

The professional clearance letter to any new auditors could be interesting though.

Sugarfree23 · 08/04/2023 11:13

What's the 'Professional Clearance' letter?,

Basically the new accountants write to the old one asking if there any professional reasons as to why they should not accept the appointment. As well as asking for info pertaining to the accounts

Sugarfree23 · 08/04/2023 11:28

Oh right I can see why that will be an interesting read 😂

😂 at least in this particular case any new accountant/auditor will be very well aware of the potential issues due to the publicity

Sugarfree23 · 08/04/2023 14:49

This is very true! 😂

SirChenjins · 08/04/2023 20:18

And it has to be published - would love to see that!

That’s a bizarre one.

That’s a bizarre one.

It cost £100k - ish and it's parked on the drive of a 92 year old woman

If the family can prove it was bought and paid for legally, then they can have it back

If it looks like the family have been misappropriating funds, then it may be the proceeds of a crime

WTF. Is NOTHING sacred??

and. besides, Wee Nic cannae drive

BigBoysDontCry · 09/04/2023 13:40

I wonder if the motor home cost exactly £107620? That would answer another question.

Indeed. It was all going on in 2021.

Viviennemary · 09/04/2023 13:49

Maybe they needed the motorhome for SNP business. To travel round the country canvassing for independence. Its an expensive business.

Sugarfree23 · 09/04/2023 13:59

Some reports are saying £110k.
The 92yo is The MIL.

MajorCarolDanvers · 09/04/2023 14:42

This report of Styrgeon shutting down a discussion about finances and then the party failing to take forward governance recommendations is intriguing

It is so obvious that she employed the tactic of she who must be obeyed. The critisim of her leadership style is only being voiced now. Her fuck ups n cover ups are too many to list. This one alone was a disgrace the hospital in Glasgow being rushed to be opened a head of an snp conference. A child cancer patient dying of infection due to water borne infection due to various corners being cut in order for that hospital to open and there was a whole raft of things that weren't fit for use, purpose.

A £110k campervan can't be that environmentally friendly or cheap to run.

They are generally diesel, although have solar panels for the leisure battery also tend to have heating which is run off the diesel too......
