DP filled out the census

MrsWobbleTheWaitressIsTired · 20/03/2022 11:17

I am raging! He filled it out last week. Without me being there.

Am I bonkers to be fucking raging? It feels like a massive over step.

He was shocked at my reaction. Has anyone else had this? Am I the only one who feels so fucked off?

I got a paper copy. I've filled in my questions but have left the questions for the rest of the family to fill in themselves. I can't answer for how they feel

Hucklead · 20/03/2022 11:19

Whoa.
I wouldn’t mind.
I trust that my DH would have filled it in truthfully.
What’s made you so angry, do you think?

MaiaJayne · 20/03/2022 11:20

Why are u angry?

smooshraspberry · 20/03/2022 11:20

Total overreaction! What exactly do you expect him to put on there?

MrsWobbleTheWaitressIsTired · 20/03/2022 11:23

Thanks for the sense check.

I wanted to see it myself. I also wanted to make sure I could see the sex/gender section.

There's other bits that are asked that I wanted to be able to answer myself.

dementedpixie · 20/03/2022 11:25

It asks about national identity and how you feel. I dont feel I should answer those questions on behalf of someone else

LizDoingTheCanCan · 20/03/2022 11:26

The questions are all here.

inews.co.uk/news/scotland/scotland-census-questions-2022-form-how-complete-online-when-deadline-explained-1526323

I'd assume your partner is aware of your sex and gender?

dementedpixie · 20/03/2022 11:26

You can order your own copy if you wish

dementedpixie · 20/03/2022 11:28

Although the sex question can be answered either way if you 'feel ' you are the opposite sex

dementedpixie · 20/03/2022 11:31

It would piss me off too which is why I ordered a paper copy so people can fill in their own sections

NonnyMouse1337 · 20/03/2022 12:41

Some of the questions are very personal like sexual orientation and national identity etc. I don't think anyone should be filling that out for another adult without consulting them. I'd be pissed off too OP.

However, you should be able to order an individual copy as mentioned by another poster.

Answers submitted via individual copies will supersede the answers provided via the household version.

So you should be able to answer it the way you want to.

You can also include a GDPR related letter along with your copy as a form of protest. Please see the post in this thread for a template.

Turningpurple · 20/03/2022 12:45

Mildly annoyed I get.

But fucking raging? Really? I think that's really out of order tbh.

Pixiedust1234 · 20/03/2022 12:56

It would make me angry too. There are certain questions that only the person involved would know. I appreciate this is for the Scottish version but when I filled in the English version online I made each person answer their own section with nobody else in the room. Just because I am close to my children doesnt mean they are ready to come out (if they are gay/bi/trans/non/cat)

Aye, he is. It just feels really personal.

Threeboysandadog · 20/03/2022 14:08

Gosh! I filled it in for the whole family and didn’t even mention it to them except to ask ds2 the name of the company he works for as it had gone right out of my head. If I’d left it up to them it would never have been filled in.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 20/03/2022 14:14

Yeah I'd be fucked off too especially given the context and the well-publicised controversy.

Indiana2021 · 20/03/2022 19:57

I filled it out for everyone too, as every request in this house to take action (on anything) is generally not taken forward as 'too busy'. If I didn't do it, it wouldn't have been done and I'm not risking a fine or an enumerator bothering me. I suspect DH with his crazy work hours doesn't even know there's a census going on TBH.
Can't expect to have it both ways Wink, although I appreciate that probably wouldn't have been the case in your house

Itsbackagain · 20/03/2022 20:00

I filled in my DP and mine. He couldn't care less what I put - in fact he doesn't even know I've done it but won't even remember it had to be done.!

Mistressiggi · 20/03/2022 21:06

Head of the household I suppose.
Wink

JesusSufferingFuck22 · 20/03/2022 21:30

I asked my dh and adult ds if they just wanted me to fill it out for them. They were both very happy to not have to do it.

JamMakingWannaBe · 21/03/2022 21:35

I'm furious too OP. I have NO idea what he put in sections about ME!

liveforsummer · 21/03/2022 21:58

I did mine and DC's last night. I wish someone else would have done it for me, it was full but all pretty basic. Nothing a partner wouldn't know (I assume he knows you are/aren't trans) and where you work and what country you were born in. Nothing in depth or overly personal. Most of my colleagues at work could have answered mine accurately
