The festive special!

As always, all railing welcome, along with good things or humorous asides. No resilience wankery. This is the safe place to let out anything that’s doing your head in.

Does anyone know where to find the stats of people in icu each month?

WouldBeGood · 29/12/2021 14:50

I’m sure it was in the 80s earlier in the month

I use travelling tabby
Icannever · 29/12/2021 14:51

The number on icu has been going down steadily for well over a month now. That’s the lowest figure in quite some time

shouldistop · 29/12/2021 14:51

She's happy to wreck people's businesses so she doesn't lose face

shouldistop · 29/12/2021 14:52

The Scottish press need to start holding the snp accountable

Travelling tabby have it as one of their graphs hospital admissions and ICU you do have to hover to get the number though

Its been going down for months that's the irony! Last time it was in the 80s was Sept, beginning of Dec it was 54 and has been decreasing since.......
Scottishskifun · 29/12/2021 14:58

@Icannever going by travelling tabby it's the lowest ICU level since early July........

WouldBeGood · 29/12/2021 15:01

So what on earth is going on? Why all this?

OP posts:
shouldistop · 29/12/2021 15:04

I can only see today's figures on travelling tabby. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Because they have scientists producing scary worst-case scenarios and it would kill Sturgeon to be optimistic.

With a heavy heart... I know how hard this is... Hmm [vomit emoji]

OnceUponAWhine · 29/12/2021 15:24

She will never admit she jumped the gun. Total waste of TV time once again.

Truly, we need someone in U.K. government to step in and above Drakeford and Sturgeon for Covid management. Tell them to go back to their day jobs, which includes, crucially in Scotland, sorting out the crisis in the NHS that exists outside the ICU. We need to have a pan UK strategy for moving forwards, it’s no longer appropriate to be in the domain of FMs. I was saying this at the start, it’s more important now more than ever.

RaraRachael · 29/12/2021 15:25

We're not due back at school till the 10th but quite a few of us or family members have tested positive. If she insists on a 10 day isolation period that's going to cause a lot of problems Hmm

mapleleavesreturn · 29/12/2021 15:26

Bets on schools not going back til 17th if that's the restrictions key review date?

Hogmanay doesn't matter for me personally but I'm sure it's more important than christmas for young people.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the first page there is a hospital/icu graph
shouldistop · 29/12/2021 15:27

Ds1 is due back at school on the 5th and that's my first day back at work

Yep and yep.
rookiemere · 29/12/2021 15:50

But there has been no talk about delaying school returns. I think that would go down very badly. I think many will be closed due to lack of staff if she doesn't reduce the isolation period.

OnceUponAWhine · 29/12/2021 15:54

Delaying returns by default if the current isolation rules stay in place.

ecceromani · 29/12/2021 15:57

I think schools will go back as normal but they'll coincide the change to whole household isolation.
There's a lot of our kids have prelims in Jan and it would be hugely disruptive, again!!

WouldBeGood · 29/12/2021 16:00

Exactly, by default like the current lockdown by default

OP posts:
rookiemere · 29/12/2021 16:01

Yes @ecceromani DS has prelims. It's all such a worry.

WouldBeGood · 29/12/2021 16:01

I really agree @OnceUponAWhine. Sturgeon snd Drakeford have showed they cannot handle the situation and it’s time to get it run by the UK.

Absolutely not.

My S5 has prelims starting Monday 10th.
