It's nice to have somewhere to come and have a moan when DH has had enough of my and my friends think I'm a granny-killing covid denier.

(Just remembered the ham was on the blathering thread, not here, but there's a fair bit of crossover.)

This is the quote from Nicola in The Times today on the move from 10 day to 7 day isolation, doesn't sound like she's in a hurry.

“I would hope that over the next days — certainly the next couple of weeks — we will start to move to a more proportionate system in terms of self-isolation,” she said.

Who wants to give me odds on any revisions not being during school holidays? So teachers, pupils and parents who made it to the end of term can be rewarded with holiday isolation

It would be a Christmas miracle if it's announced before the 4th is my guess...

Personally I would test day 6/7 and follow English guidelines. The Scottish ones aren't in law...... just saying!

Day 6 today and2 lines like her maw's peesticks back in the day. Until this afternoon been pretty sick though, sweats, headache, vomiting, sore throat, exhausted (sleeping most of the time) , she woke up was able drink requested noodles. Maybe tomorrow she'll get a negative or even a fainter positive

Awww @Lidlfix that's rotten luck for her. Hopefully she'll have turned a corner tomorrow.

Make sure she is keeping ontop of fever management - paracetamol then 3 hours later ibuprofen then 3 hours later paracetamol and keep repeating. It will reduce fever spikes and make her feel more human and honestlyso much water! I had daily fevers from covid for 3 months

She wants to have a shower . I see this as progress.

Ds finally got a negative and can come out his room, poor bugger. Missed 2 shifts at work he won't be paid for. He said he's not doing a pcr again if its going to take 52 hours to come back. Too much time to lose for a 20 year old at Christmas time. Bugger that.

Hope you all have lovely days, and those of you with plague-ridden households manage some festive feeling. Glad your DS has been freed eventually ssd, but, yes, what a faff...52 hours?! And glad lidlfam seems to be on the mend.

I know it’s the season of goodwill but can I rail that I haven’t had a thank you for my niece and nephews presents. I even seen one of my brothers by chance and he didn’t even mention the gifts.

I shouldn’t be surprised as they can’t even get me a Christmas card but it pisses me off no end.

They also all met up for breakfast. I didn’t get an invite. I did have plans but they didn’t know that beforehand.

Sorry for moaning on Xmas day.

I'm the same. Sent gifts to family members' children and have not even had an acknowledgment. Aside from the practicality of wondering if they definitely got them, how hard is it to send a text?

Glad it’s not just me. Exactly a wee text is all I’m asking for. And it would be nice to receive a Christmas card from the kids.

Makes me so sad. Another Christmas where being single just makes it all feel a lot worse.

Im sorry @runningpink, i know how you feel, i had this for years. I send nothing now, no cards or presents or texts. Its surprisingly freeing. I'm lucky there's a distance between us all right enough. Must be harder if you are all close by.
