The railing never ends.

No resilience wankery, all railing welcome, along with good things or humorous asides.

Now that my holiday has been fucked up

@WouldBeGood

I don’t think the booster shows in the app in Scotland but I might be wrong. I’ve fucked up my log in and been locked out of my nhs account but I’m not fussed as not going out anywhere I’d need it
I believe the booster will show up from 9/12 but I could be mistaken
WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 18:19

Thanks @Ginsmything

After Arthur (bless you Bear) I think closing schools will only happen if the NHS is completely broken nobody wants another kid like that on their hands.

Surely with the vaccines the NHS cannot become that overwhelmed.

WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 18:40

I don’t think they’ll shut them officially but the isolation requirements for omicron are going to create de facto lockdown

titsintiers · 07/12/2021 19:45

Oh god that case is so disturbing @Lockdownbear

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 07/12/2021 20:05

I am railing about the Downing Street party. I cannot abide Nicola Sturgeon or her politics but I do believe she wouldn't do something like this. Videos of them mocking people 🤬 vile disgusting human beings who are not fit for office.

Meanwhile on here a bunch of women (don't think any men are on this thread) are worrying about perfectly normal days out trips etc.

1/3 would prob jump at the chance of a party another 1/3 hmmm maybe but worried about contact tracing/catching covid and the other 1/3 wouldn't dream of breaking the rules. Not one single person on this thread is wrong for their own personal thought process yet there has been words back and forth while they fuckers just party it up.

My friend gave birth by her bloody self on the 15th of December because they said she wasn't yet in active labour so partner didn't make it on time.

If Nicola comes out swinging for him I may up my level of respect for her. This is the most vile thing I have ever seen. The SNP and their corruption disgust me as well btw but this is just beyond anything I have ever seen in government

And breathe

Scottishskifun · 07/12/2021 20:23

The party definitely distasteful in the circumstances. The suspicious person in me wonders why this has come out a year later and therefore why its been leaked now i.e what are they covering up by distraction!

It should make me angry but I kinda just think it was a year ago and there is bigger shit to get annoyed at would prefer they concentrate on this current mess and NHS then distraction with this!

Lockdownbear · 07/12/2021 20:42

My friend gave birth by her bloody self on the 15th of December because they said she wasn't yet in active labour so partner didn't make it on time.

It happens even in non-covid times. Happened to my pal, and I thought it was really unusual. Then it happened to me.
I phoned DH minutes after delivery, "Hmm baby's here, do you want to come in?"

alicesfavouritepen · 07/12/2021 20:47

Also here to rail about this. It's disgusting. There isn't really bigger shit to deal with because this shows exactly what they think and highlights everything that is wrong with our society: one rule for them a different for the rest of us. It's repulsive and it's so blatant.

WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 21:06

It’s disgusting.

Throughout this whole thing it’s been clear that the rules do not apply to those who make them. Time after time after time.

OP posts:
mapleleavesreturn · 07/12/2021 21:09

Oh I don't know - maybe the 'not a formal party' is where Matt Hancock first made sheep eyes at Gina, at least that eventually got rid of one of them.

I'm more outraged at Dominic Raab's complete failure at the FO managing the Afghanistan withdrawal shambles from the beach.

WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 21:12

That’s terrible too @mapleleavesreturn

I think the stupid party resonates because lots of people were obeying the rules and not seeing loved ones. Sticks in the craw

OP posts:
Scottishskifun · 07/12/2021 21:17

@mapleleavesreturn yep for me this is by far the bigger scandal leaving however many people to suffer at the hands of the taliban!
Maybe that's why the story has been leaked so we don't focus on the human life cost of that horrendous feck up and concentrate on people having cheese and wine 🤷‍♀️

Not defending their party what so ever BTW!

alicesfavouritepen · 07/12/2021 21:17

It's the fact they are openly laughing about it as well. Mirror just broke that Gavin Williamson also had a party.

Scottishskifun · 07/12/2021 21:21

You only get hold of that type of footage if it's deliberately leaked though.....which makes me think again they are playing the squirrel card as its too bizarre for it "suddenly come to light" after 12 months!

So what is the true thing they are trying to distract away from!

mapleleavesreturn · 07/12/2021 21:25

I suspect some cynical media manipulation too. They're not going to face a vote of no confidence over a 'not a party party'.

I agree they're shits.

14m kids in Afghanistan facing emergency levels of food insecurity this winter.

WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 21:25

It’s the hurt it’s caused people though. People who were trying to do the right thing as they saw it. And then being mocked.

OP posts:
mapleleavesreturn · 07/12/2021 21:29

I agree, last christmas was sad for very many people, this year isn't shaping up to be tonnes better, but somehow I reckon the tories think their core vote won't mind their party that much.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 07/12/2021 21:41

@Lockdownbear I do understand that but she had been in for 3 days with no partner because of COVID.

I really can get worked up about a party that wasn't a party given no more than 8 weeks later I had to bury my dad with a socially distanced masked up ceremony and no wake.

There will be other shit going on no doubt but hand on heart I have never been more ashamed to be British/Scottish. All this oh well there are worse things going on in the world?? Aye there is right under these fuckers.

School closures, poverty, corruption.

I have a brother who fought in Afghanistan so believe me when I say I have true sympathy for the people there it is barbaric.

This country is no fucking better we just do it in suits with a glass of wine!

WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 21:42

Absolutely @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021

I honestly can’t believe we’ve come to this.

OP posts:
IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 07/12/2021 21:49

Thanks @WouldBeGood and everyone else. I do actually value everyone on these threads but I am just heart fucking sick of oh well it's ok because of of X Y Z

No fucking first time mums should have to labour alone ever. Childbirth is bad enough in this country without COVID playing havoc.

I'm in the area where that school closure happened and our head is already flapping (don't blame her) but these fuckers are partying like it's 1999 and taking this piss to boot.

At the end of the day any member of any government who catches COVID will get the best medical attention so don't really have much to fear. We are at the hands of the workers who are so done in at this point that they can only do what they can do.

Scottishskifun · 07/12/2021 22:11

Again not defending their party it's disgusting I suppose it doesn't surprise me though so I'm not shocked by it hence it doesn't make me angry as its the type of behaviour I pretty much expect.

There are many things people shouldn't have had to do alone including child birth, deaths, funerals etc.

That's what I find shocking and get angry about the fact we have been told it's all for the greater good to have major life events, schooling and grief effected to such a serious level for covid protection across the UK but also globally.
I've been on the receiving end of some of these policies it caused trauma yet being told it's covid policy or don't I know there is a pandemic on including on Scotnet.

It's a virus which can't be controlled yet as a society we shame others, blame teenagers, finger point, stare at people without a mask etc etc (not majority here just in general)

Govts knew last year it wasn't controllable so why make us all live like this!

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 07/12/2021 22:16

On that I totally agree with you @Scottishskifun what the fuck are they playing at telling us to live like this when they don't.

I think I'm just an angry ball of stress at the minute with stuff in my life and this shit makes my blood boil. My business has went down the drain and my kids still aren't back to where they need to be well my oldest educationally.

The first lockdown I can forgive but from then on out it was just piss poor planning

WouldBeGood · 07/12/2021 22:30

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 💐 It’s shit
