The railing never ends.

No resilience wankery, all railing welcome, along with good things or humorous asides.

What do the levels mean again?

I thought we were in the level under 0. Does level 4 not take us back to lockdown, pretty much?

I just want to cry.

runningpink · 12/12/2021 18:35

Level 4 on the tiers is full lockdown but I think they are referring to the R level being at 4. No idea what that means/covers though

dementedma · 12/12/2021 18:40

Who do we write to, other than MPs, about the 350 million of public funds being ring fenced for a referendum? It just cannot be right!

It's the spread level for England not the restriction levels would say fear not but we have NS lecture and examining the law this weekend so we are just going to have to sit tight til then!
mibbelucieachwell · 12/12/2021 19:25

Oh hell.

I have the fear now too.

I'm resolutely optimistic that the next spike of covid will be much shorter than the last ones though.

I'm still in a quandary about whether to go to a funeral in the north isles as I would probably spend 2 nights with elderly relatives after going on public transport to get from the mainland to the isles. I'm holding off deciding till I've seen what the covid situation is. If I'm finding this difficult I can only imagine the horrendous decisions other people are facing. Again. Sad

WouldBeGood · 12/12/2021 19:39

Are all adult’s eligible for the booster now, or just over 40s?

OP posts:
Ginsmything · 12/12/2021 19:45

Over 30s can book from tomorrow and then over 18s later this week, not announced exact date yet.

WouldBeGood · 12/12/2021 19:52

Thank you @Ginsmything, appreciated

DD was asking and I’ve lost track

BBC says they've been told no new rules being announced so hopefully this is a non event!

HarrisMcCoo · 12/12/2021 20:08

Get boosted now! Did you get that? 🤣

MLMshouldbeillegal · 12/12/2021 20:14

If you're in England, you'll get your booster by 31st December.

In Scotland, you'll have to wait for Nippy and Humza Useless to get their acts together. Don't hold your breath.

HarrisMcCoo · 12/12/2021 20:22

Nic will aim to go one better though. We know how it works by now 😂

ResilienceWanker · 12/12/2021 20:26

Every unboosted adult in Scotland has to gather on Tuesday at their nearest aircraft hangar to be jagged Xmas Grin It'll be like the biblical census, but there definitely will be LOADS of room in the inns, cos all the parties have been cancelled. Maybe slightly fewer wise men, though.

mibbelucieachwell · 12/12/2021 20:28

Not sure if it's just my health board but they finally announced walk ins again for boosters starting next week.
But our health board often went against SG rollout process previously if they thought it helped!

WouldBeGood · 12/12/2021 21:07

We’ll be getting the thistle booster/it’s all WM’s fault booster at the specially commissioned Brigadoon centres

It’s just a wee jag!

OP posts:
runningpink · 13/12/2021 07:08

I’m really struggling with the whole booster thing.

I really feel like digging my heels in and refusing as I got the other two and still couldn’t do stuff and had to wear a bloody mask.
Iv followed all the damn rules, screwed my mental health in the process etc and for what?

Will having the 3rd change this?

mapleleavesreturn · 13/12/2021 07:13

Otoh, I'm bloody glad to see a sensible, vaccine rather than restrictions-led strategy, and daily testing rather than long periods of automatic isolations.

Lockdownbear · 13/12/2021 07:27

Let's just hope Scotland follow suite.

Unfortunately the Scotgov of doom may still decide to do something different. But they need to be super careful not to loose the backing of the people.

LizzieMacQueen · 13/12/2021 07:31

The thing with daily testing though, have you seen the threads in here of 'can you see a positive?' I can never see a line when countless others can. That, plus are they any more reliable now? ( though I'm so glad they are nasal testing 15 minute tests )
