The railing never ends.

No resilience wankery, all railing welcome, along with good things or humorous asides.

I wonder if the leak came from the Conservative parliamentary party itself in a bid to force Doris to resign, without being seen to be forcing him?

Has there been an official Scottish pronouncement today?

I’m not taking any ‘advice’ to return to home working until I’m absolutely forced to. As with others I feel I’ve done my part. I worked exclusively from home for over a year, isolated from my colleagues, at great cost to my mental health. I home schooled and watched my children suffer from the lack of social interaction. I had my jags and wore masks when asked, even though it’s pretty obvious to me they’re not doing anything significant. I’ve followed all the nonsensical, illiberal and contradictory rules as best I could. But now I’m told by someone who has NEVER done it that I’m supposed to work from home because they’re shitting their pants over hospital capacity, a problem entirely of their making? Why haven’t they got better provisions in place? What exactly have they been doing for the last 1 3/4 years, because it certainly wasn’t strengthening the NHS? She can fuck right off with that one.

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2021 14:59

I think they’ll achieve it simply by the self isolating rules. Omicron will soon be rife. No need for lockdown when everting is shut and everyone isolating at home

I can’t and won’t be following any potential reintroduction of restrictions.
My MH can’t cope again, I’m still suffer the effects from before and I won’t be stopping work. If they achieved furlough again (I doubt this will happen) I wouldn’t be entitled this time so couldn’t afford to not work.

runningpink · 08/12/2021 15:34

And I want to rail that I have a funeral next week but will need to miss the church service as you need to wear a damn mask. (Yet I court be dancing in a nightclub!)

And not go to the wake for fear that could get track and traced if anyone ends up with covid. Everyone will know each other so can’t see a way to avoid this but just not signing in etc

ElephantOfRisk · 08/12/2021 16:30

I just wanted to commend everyone on their gold standard railing today.

We might be angry but at least we have each other.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 08/12/2021 16:34

I'm railing today that DH is no longer allowed to work from home one day a week (which was saving his sanity) but it's absolutely fine for me to go to a boozy Christmas party in my office. Though I'm not go there to work...

runningpink · 08/12/2021 16:40

Hands out the cake and wine for us all to share!

I agree! Top notch railing folks... on a day made for railing. What a load of tossers we are run by.

My rail is that Allegra Stratton made her resignation speech wearing my favourite jumper of all time, and now I won't be able to wear it again for fear of looking like a Tory. Booooo Xmas Sad

ElephantOfRisk · 08/12/2021 16:54

Nice jumper @ResilienceWanker. Maybe just don't wear it with a greetin' face and no-one will make the connection?

ElephantOfRisk · 08/12/2021 16:56

My current rail is that I am all ready to head in for my team dinner and now I feel sick and I don't know if it's hunger, stressy tummy or actual feeling sick.

I'm now having a yoghurt to see if that helps but all my favourite flavours have been eaten :(

That's where my money would be going. It's too coincidental a leak.

Did I see wine…?! I’m in 🍷

ResilienceWanker · 08/12/2021 17:37

Ha! Good call. Maybe I could just not be a hypocritical prat and I may get away with it... Hope you feel better soon. Maybe it's just nerves...I get like that sometimes. Darn the yogurt-eating family, though.

And yes, I agree there's something in the timing of the leak. No idea what, though. Maybe it is a push to get bojo out and sunak? (or Gove, lord help us?) in? But he does seem bullet proof.

I do wish there was someone in parliament between Starmer ("well, he should think very hard about apologising") and Blackford ("resign now you lying prick, just like I said last week, and the week before... ") though.

ResilienceWanker · 08/12/2021 17:44

Me too... (and cheese? Xmas Grin)
ElephantOfRisk · 08/12/2021 18:11

Definitely nerves. Had a rennie and a peach yoghurt and now on the train.

ssd · 08/12/2021 18:48

Enjoy your night @ElephantOfRisk

MaxNormal · 08/12/2021 18:56

Didn't take Sturgeon long to post a big fat hint about Elevenerifing Johnson.

2022HereWeCome · 08/12/2021 19:05

DH railing tonight as thinks he will be forced to work from home again. I'd just moved into the spare room he'd vacated with the bigger desk and nicer chair so I am pissed off too because being part time I will be ousted to the smaller desk and colder part of the house. However, if schools close for any length of time I will be going off sick. Fed up of being expected to work in a pressured environment and home school

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/12/2021 19:06

I just came on to post that @MaxNormal I actually feel devastated.

She's going to do it. Prob Boxing Day. My kid will not get her birthday party again. So small I know but this started just after her 6th so it's such a long time for them.

2022HereWeCome · 08/12/2021 19:08

They are worried about hospital capacity because there are huge staffing issues in the NHS and absence rates are always high over the Xmas period for a variety of reasons even in non-covid times

MaxNormal · 08/12/2021 19:10

So small I know but this started just after her 6th so it's such a long time for them

It's not small at all. They are only little once, for such a short time, and that time can't be got back again.

ssd · 08/12/2021 19:18

Laura Kuenssberg is very quiet

Wonder if she was at the non party?

Haudyourwheesht · 08/12/2021 19:26

I'm sure she tweeted about it last night. I noticed because I thought she was resigning, but that felt like ages ago.

ssd · 08/12/2021 19:28

She'll get Allegra"s job
