The warning about being distracted by phones doesn't bother me it's the patronising way it's being put across with that stupid woman.

If it was a bloke reminding people that x many accidents are caused by people being distracted by phones while driving in a matter of fact sort of way it wouldn't bother me it's the patronising way they put the message across.

it’s Alex Cole-Hamilton
@ agcolehamilton on Twitter and Jamie Greene is @ jamiegreeneUK

There doesn’t seem much public appetite for the extension of vaccine passports.

@OnceUponAWhine I too rate Alex Cole Hamilton on this.

If we could get the parliament back into some kind of coalition rather than the current dictatorship, I think it would be good. In order for that to happen, the independence issue needs to be put to bed. Lets get minds focussed on running the country well and using the powers appropriately. There is no economic argument and no overwhelming consistent desire for independence so let's leave it until there is.

Yes thats it exactly nobody actually talks like that.
WouldBeGood · 23/11/2021 13:29

Agree @ElephantOfRisk.

At the moment independence is a non-issue.

OP posts:
ElephantOfRisk · 23/11/2021 13:45

I just think that people might vote more widely if it wasn't all about voting for an independence or non independence party and we might get a wider range of voices and representation. There are some decent human beings out there trying to do a job and whilst I hate the SNP, I think if they didn't stifle independent thought in their own NSP/MPs there might be some decent folk able to give their wider views for once.

But herself doesn't give a shit about public opinion. Just Devi's opinion. And doing the polar opposite of Boris.
OnceUponAWhine · 23/11/2021 13:57

True @MLMshouldbeillegal

True.

Now I’m scared

I just want to be clear that I don’t just hate the Scottish government and the SNP, but also the UK government and all the other parties.

Lest I appear partisan.

I rail most against the SG as they have most control over my day to day life.

railing at DD's school. She is S3. Got her report yesterday. Very good report, says she is either working at level 4 or completed level 4

except art, where she's completed level 2 and starting level 3.

art is her favourite subject.

Isn't level 2 like primary 7 level?

This makes no sense to me. Do any teachers understand this?

It says her behaviour / homework / effort is all very good though.

True - I have a lot of sympathy and respect for Joanna Cherry but would never vote for her or her party.

I also really like my own MSP - Jackie Baillie - and I've always been a labour voter, but the party increasingly irritates me with their 'on the fence' approach to everything.

WouldBeGood · 24/11/2021 11:13

That’s weird @amazeandastonish. I’d give them a ring and see if you can speak to the teacher, I think.

I'll have a shot! She might be poor at art, despite enjoying it. That's always possible. I think it's more likely the whole class is at that level (so, working within level 3?) this is probably more to be associated with S2 BUT it is linked to the numbers of outcomes covered. The numbers of outcomes covered may well be lower if you don't get a lot of a subject each week, or if what they can offer is reduced due to Covid restrictions (or even the time in lockdown - hard to do structured art lessons at home). The criteria for those levels will be quite different in different subjects too. I would strongly suspect that if she asks her art classmates they will all have got the same level. TLDR - the level is more likely a measure of what has been able to be covered in Art, rather than what ability your dc has in the subject.
WouldBeGood · 24/11/2021 12:24

I’m sure actually that DS’ report said to ignore the levels (s3) and I wonder if that relates ti wgatvuiu said @Mistressiggi about what’s been covered? Interesting

School will be using a council wide system. There are bits they can personalise for their school but other bits that have to be that way.

doesn't look as though the adoption system in Scotland is much to shout about:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-59387471

WouldBeGood · 24/11/2021 16:05

@mapleleavesreturn don’t get me started on this.

But to be fair, choosing to adopt legally means that the child, good or bad, is yours, just as a birth child would be. So really people should prepare themselves for that and treat the child as their own. Of course they are likely to be troubled and have attachment issues as they have been placed due adoption, and the process takes ages, compounding damage.

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 24/11/2021 16:26

I really do hope the system is thoroughly reformed. It’s another way children are being failed.

Oh dear god, @MLMshouldbeillegal she was. Now head of PR at Gordonstoun it seems. Ffs. This makes me so angry.
