Yes, the Pfizer needs to be mixed with saline. And someone fucked it up.

But it's still a fuck up and someone should have noticed.

ElephantOfRisk · 22/11/2021 10:19

Drug errors are more common than you'd hope. At one point DH worked on the nurse bank. As he wasn't familiar with the patients, he'd always check their drug sheets thoroughly before giving anything out. He was aghast at the number of times the drugs being given didn't match what was prescribed and how often the people afterwards just carried on giving the wrong amounts.

Scottishskifun · 22/11/2021 10:24

@MLMshouldbeillegal couldn't agree more!

My DS has lived under restrictions longer than not some it's their entire lives and they are 18 months old. That's not right and it has a big effect on them. Referrals for development delay have sky rocketed in my area!
Some classes/groups are back which is a great step but many aren't still as they were reliant on LA Hall hire outs which still isn't allowed in many areas.

runningpink · 22/11/2021 10:28

It did feel so normal. Didn’t need to Chuck a mask on at any time either which was the best feeling.

runningpink · 22/11/2021 10:32

Oh all the high schools in the Scottish Borders have had Christmas parties cancelled. (Not sure about primary)

Let’s think, just pile them all into a nightclub and serve juice and crisps and they will be sorted!

It’s utterly ridiculous and even more double standards

WouldBeGood · 22/11/2021 10:59

@MLMshouldbeillegal excellent railing summary

Bunch of fuckwits

I haven’t worn a mask anywhere for about a month now snd no issues, including when I went to physio clinic

Just returned from a massively refreshing trip to England where we thoroughly enjoyed the lack of masks and being around people started to feel normal again.
It was so nice not being bombarded with messages to keep each other safe.
Didn't realise how anxiety inducing the whole thing is.

Probably get covid now but given its rampant where I live then it's a chance I'm happy to take!

Scottishskifun · 22/11/2021 13:25

Glad you had a good time away @calmdown14 I definitely agree. Having spent a lot of time this summer in England I hadn't realised how much the messaging, seeing big no mask no entry signs or dreading watching the Scottish news brought me on a regular basis until I got a break from it all! It does make a big difference.

If people's mental health isn't great then often neither is their lifestyles the worse they feel mentally the more likely they are to drink more or have a rubbish diet which also can effect how ill people get from covid so I see it all as a but of a vicious circle!

WouldBeGood · 22/11/2021 13:40

I really do agree @Calmdown14 - it was like a weight lifted off me on my trip to England. And I escaped unscathed.

The continuing constant misery and doom messaging of the SG is very wearing.

Chris Musson tweeting this afternoon in response to a question about masks in schools:

[start of quote]
On Oct 21,Scot Gov said CMO
@DrGregorSmith wanted a "short pause" before masks not needed for pupils age 12+ in class,to "enable a greater proportion of young people to become protected.. after vaccination". Vax rates seem to have levelled off. Will it be enough? Next review tmrw.

Mandatory face coverings for pupils age 12+ in class not the only issue.. Scot Gov Covid education advisory group said in Oct that other things should return, such as assemblies. All these relaxations were paused.

Scot Gov schools Covid guidance updated today for first time since Sept. No major change, tho could do after First Minister's statement tmrw. But Nov 22 update retains the lack-of-vaccination rationale for tougher rules in schools, despite 57.8% coverage (12-15s) & 77.0% (16-17s) [end of quote]

So same old same old. I am SO SCUNNERED with this shit they are putting onto our kids.

MLMshouldbeillegal · 22/11/2021 15:55

And also, isn't it an utterly shit state of affairs when there seems to be only one person willing to take on Queen Nicola, and he's a journalist of the Sun???

WouldBeGood · 22/11/2021 16:05

Chris Musson has consistently been the only one to question them. It’s bizarre! It’s not even heckling, just asks the questions people want answers to.

The masks in schools is just terrible now. No justification whatsoever

OP posts:
Calmdown14 · 22/11/2021 16:40

I can't figure out how we can't set foot in school, parents evening cancelled again, never set eyes on my kids teachers, no nativity again.....but the school fete can run in two weeks time which is an absolute scrum at the best of times.

I appreciate this isn't the school's fault and they are just following guidance but it's ridiculous.

Same as we are all wearing masks outside to drop of nursery kids but the other week had a birthday party where every child was invited, most parents stayed and everyone was in the same room for two hours.... because there was a buffet so covid knows not to come.

Same as it apparently understands the difference between sitting and standing at work.

It's just absolutely farcical when it is no longer changing the risk

Aurea · 22/11/2021 17:05

Heart just sank. Big rail........

On board train from south coast of England to Aberdeen. 12 hours journey in total.

Announcement now at Berwick upon Tweed about wearing face masks once over the border.

Such a joke. Am sitting near the same people who have been maskless for several hours now. 😡

Welcome to Scotland!!!!

WouldBeGood · 22/11/2021 17:23

It is ridiculous @Aurea. On our train the guy was also issuing dire warnings about police patrolling Central Station to arrest the maskless 🤣🤣

OP posts:
Aurea · 22/11/2021 18:00

Am I being a rebel?

Well over the border now and no one near me has put their face mask on (including me 🤭).

Just one announcement about masks before Berwick and nothing since.......

Lockdownbear · 22/11/2021 18:01

As if the police have time to waste!

WouldBeGood · 22/11/2021 18:07

Unsurprisingly, there were not mask police. And if there had been, they’d have been very busy

OP posts:
MLMshouldbeillegal · 23/11/2021 08:27

I think that's the rule which is almost as ridiculous as "put your mask on you walk to the loo in a restaurant".

You can sit on a train breathing all over someone all the way from Kings Cross to Berwick, and have to put a mask on for the last wee bit to Edinburgh.

What a pile of nonsense.

Lockdownbear · 23/11/2021 10:52

Some most of the rules just make no sense.
But I really don't think people will fall for the nonsense that you can go anywhere with a till but not have people in your house. I think people will see through that if they try it again

Lockdownbear · 23/11/2021 10:57

Can I have a moan about that stupid radio advert "drive like Grans in the car" seriously WFT, why do Scot Gov talk to us all like we are wee weans?

ecceromani · 23/11/2021 10:59

Absolutely @Lockdownbear
This time last year I was meeting my friend once a week in a poorly ventilated coffee shop, sat across a small table from her with about another 20 people in the same room.
I still struggle with the fact I believed that was preferable to being just the 2 of us sat 3m apart in my large living room with the window open🤷🏼‍♀️
I will NOT be doing that again!

Lockdownbear · 23/11/2021 12:14

I don't know if you'd call it brainwashing or gaslighting but something blinking weird physiology, was going on to make us all think a coffee in Starbucks with other random folk was 'safe' yet coffee made with your own kettle and a couple of folk was 'unsafe'.

rookiemere · 23/11/2021 12:21

That advert makes me so mad @Lockdownbear . Is there no area of our lives that the SG doesn't want to meddle in ?

OnceUponAWhine · 23/11/2021 12:25

Chris Musson has consistently pressed ScotGov with questions on behalf of parents (and you should see the utter abuse he gets from nutter cyber nats) but he’s finally been also joined by Conservative MSPs, see @JeremyRBalfour Twitter post for ref, Jason Leitch was at a big event with students, yet we can’t even watch our Children’s shows or meet their teachers. (Jamie Greene MSP has also been questioning the rules for children)

And quite frankly, they can all get to feck if they extend the vaccine passports today. Alec Cole Hamilton of Lib Dems is worth a follow for speaking up on that too.

Ranting today but having a had a few days away working in London again, I’m really struggling to return to this ScotGov bullshit.
