Agree with all of your railing. Nothing has changed, has it?
Masks in schools - education secretary said on 16th August that masks would go "as soon as possible". www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-58228512 That was over 3 months ago. DD is having super fun trying to do her higher drama performance, masked up.
No parents evenings. Our school/local authority has been totally shit with the online stuff all the way through this, basically East Dunbartonshire took the position that it was up to the individual teachers to decide whether they wanted to do video lessons or other online stuff, and if they didn't, that was fine. What the parents wanted and what the kids needed/wanted - irrelevant.
Vaccine passport - don't have it, don't want it. I'm not one for clubbing. I have booked panto tickets for me and the two kids who wanted to go as we got a special deal through DD's drama school. £20 plus a free ice cream in the interval. Masks during performance, but you will obviously have to take them off to eat your ice cream at which point the "risk" stops? As if. Won't be wearing my mask anyway.
#ElsieMcSelfie on twitter has provided lots of laughs but not in a good way, Queen Nicola desperately accosting randomers at Cop26 with cans of Irn Bru and requests for a photo op. Without a mask, of course. Because it's one rule for herself and another for the rest of us oiks, isn't it?
Swinney - an utter embarrassment and incompetent but that's nothing new. Ditto Blackford.
Lockdown/further restrictions. Well Queen Nic can bang on all she likes about "just because you can doesn't mean you should" or ban us from leaving East Dunbartonshire, or ban us from having friends over but I won't be complying. And i'm sure I'm far from alone in that.
We're two years into this shit almost, that's a huge slice of children's lives, and a huge slice of the years my elderly parents may have left. Even the liberal Dutch are rioting over this nonsense of more restrictions when everyone is vaxxed.
