@maxnormal yes I do remember. Would it be possible to photocopy your letter and use this places?

It's not going to help with international travel as it won't have a QR code element but I would hope that places would accept it.
It's horrific that might be the only option for you though 😔

MaxNormal · 09/11/2021 20:50

@Scottishskifun I will try that. Tbh I don't actually go out that much but I'd like to be able to meet a friend in a coffee shop.

For international travel I can just go to places that let you in with a PCR test.

Just hope things don't keep tightening even further though.

WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 20:57

To be honest, I’m not going to go for coffees if I have to show documentation

I remember you too @MaxNormal Do you reckon a pen pusher somewhere will ignore your medical advice from your consultant who knows your specific case?
Good grief that really isn't good
That should surely get you an exemption

WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 21:21

Chris Musson good on Twitter about the shambles of the SG and their refusal to answer any questions about these vague threats

@ecceromani here's the UK guidance and I can't imagine Scotland will be much different so yes its quite possible. The exemption criteria are... short.

@WouldBeGood off to check that out now.

Scottishskifun · 09/11/2021 21:58

@maxnormal please if they reject it contact a opposition MSP if SNP is yours.
It should not be that a helpline overrides a consultant and medical view!
This sort of thing needs raising to a much higher level it's completely unacceptable to demonise areas of society because they want their narrative to be seen doing something even with very little evidence it actually reduces spread of covid!

mibbelucieachwell · 09/11/2021 22:13

@MaxNormal

I'm not a lawyer but surely your situation would count as unfair discrimination? Obviously it's a drastic thing to do but I'd bet on a legal challenge succeeding.

It's so ridiculous anyway when everyone knows that the vaccines don't stop transmission.

Why is the SG hellbent on reducing the number of cases when all that will achieve is a flatter curve of cases? So sick of them.

ecceromani · 09/11/2021 22:34

@MaxNormal so here's a thought.
if you were denied your exemption and so turned up at a vaccine centre and showed them the letter from your consultant stating you should not have the vaccine, what clinician is actually going to inject youHmm

OnceUponAWhine · 09/11/2021 23:23

@WouldBeGood

Chris Musson good on Twitter about the shambles of the SG and their refusal to answer any questions about these vague threats
Yes, saw that. Scary times though, as he always feels like the only one pressing?

I’ve concluded that the vague statement on masks was actually willy wanging at Boris for the hospital incident yesterday. Even Useless made a comment on it from his glasshouse.

MaxNormal · 10/11/2021 06:10

Thank you all and yes contacting an opposition MSP is a great idea.
Actually away from home at the moment hence not getting right on it

WouldBeGood · 10/11/2021 08:01

Ah, could be @OnceUponAWhine. I find it mind boggling that out of all the horrific and sleazy things Boris has done it’s the mask that people are wetting their pants over 🙄

Northernsouloldies · 10/11/2021 08:44

Erosion of civil liberties, coercion. If you want a social life let sturgeon and Co twist your arm to have vaccine passport. It's another form of control. So let's get this right, a complete free for all for cop 26.then idiot swinney with vague mutterings on restrictions IE. more working from home etc. Could that not have applied to cop 26, conference calls, zoom etc rather than 30,000 unnecessary visitors.

Scottishskifun · 10/11/2021 09:02

@WouldBeGood

It sounds like a classic Borris distraction to me...... Shit hitting the fan with the boys club let's distract everyone elsewhere!
MaxNormal · 10/11/2021 09:14

I did reckon that we'd be hit with some sort of further-restriction fuckery post COP26. And here it is, right on time. Along with the Save Christmas strapline. The whole thing is painfully, insultingly predictable.

howdiditcometothis666 · 10/11/2021 11:35

Just bollocks Most of what I think has been expressed better but had to get that off my chest after listening to Swiney

WouldBeGood · 10/11/2021 11:35

A Boris squirrel, @Scottishskifun? 😃

OP posts:
Haudyourwheesht · 10/11/2021 11:45

@WouldBeGood

A Boris squirrel, *@Scottishskifun*? 😃
I can even imagine him suggesting it. 'I'll go wandering about a hospital without a mask. That'll take the plebs' attention away from the disgusting corruption of our party, and fuck it, they'll re-elect me anyway."
Scottishskifun · 10/11/2021 12:00

@WouldBeGood

A Boris squirrel, *@Scottishskifun*? 😃
😂 Yep he does it a fair bit it was DH who pointed out it's his tactic usually when something controversial is happening he did it with Margaret Thatcher comments (was a scandal not really getting muhh traction in London because of it!)

Honestly next time you go I can't believe Borris has said x or done y see if there is info kicking around on twitter!

WouldBeGood · 10/11/2021 12:10

I don’t give a shit if he wears a mask, I was annoyed by the distraction. Bleeding hearts are easily distracted!

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 10/11/2021 12:22

That was overly grumpy 🤣

OP posts:
Scottishskifun · 10/11/2021 12:35

Haha all part of the political game!
It's why I don't particularly like any of them they all play it!
There are a few individuals who I think yep your a good un and that's across all parties but the majority do the same thing regardless of party!

mibbelucieachwell · 10/11/2021 14:48

Hah. Wales is using the English NHS app, at no cost to the Welsh government. They have adapted it so it isn't a vaccine passport as it can be used to show proof of a negative of test taken up to 48 hours ago, recovery from covid in the last six months and or vax status. So not a measure used to coerce people in being vaccinated. Apparently some people's data got lost on it but is otherwise working fine. With the exception of the problem of faking negative lf tests, it sounds better and cheaper than our passport thing.

DS' graduation ceremony thingy in England last weekend required a vax passport of proof of having registered a negative lf test within 24 hours. The lady at the door couldn't read the QR code on our apps but she accepted them anyway. We dutifully masked up for the ceremony then mingled, maskless free as a bird at the drinks reception, so it all made perfect sense and we were thrilled and relieved to know how safe we were.

rookiemere · 10/11/2021 15:20

Are the Scottish vaccine apps acceptable in England? Booked to go to go and see The Mirror and the Light on Friday night in London and not sure what I need to get into the theatre. I could check I suppose, but where's the fun in that.

titsintiers · 10/11/2021 15:22

I used my nhs letter with the qr code in Italy, so it should work in England. Who fecking knows these days though.
