Sorry meant to say members discount down from 50% to 20%.

Pootle40 · 09/11/2021 10:42

The playhouse in Edinburgh were selling Chicago tickets for £13 a few weeks ago.

runningpink · 09/11/2021 10:42

@Scottishskifun are there covid rules for Murrayfield?
I have managed to buy some tickets this morning from a friend and I actually didn’t consider any rules since we are outdoors.

runningpink · 09/11/2021 10:44

BBC Scotland 2.15pm and it won’t be from Nicola as she is still at the cop stuff

Need your vaccination passport (we weren't checked) no bags and masks "indoors" which I think most people took as the toilets..... DH said its based on smoking legislation so there is a argument that sat in seats should be as well.... The reality is that very few did this as most view it as outside as well!

If a ticket just for that game then its a digital pass or you can print it off.

Scottishskifun · 09/11/2021 11:21

*bag allowed for childcare purposes or medical

WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 11:32

I’ve been avoiding any high price indoor outing or show because of the masks. But went to a local comedy night in a wee theatre and no one wore them sitting down. It’s a high compliance area too. Weird, as we were cheek to jowl in the seats! But I am
Putting off going to more expensive things, just in case, and will look for gigs and shows in England instead.

Haudyourwheesht · 09/11/2021 11:49

I think in most theatre- type places people just buy snacks or drinks, so take them off. And I don't imagine there will be any reference to maskless Murrayfield considering that masks are very rarely seen in football stadia, week on week.

WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 12:03

Maybe they’re going to lift masks in schools?

Can't see it. We also can't have kids sitting in groups, which is shit.
WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 12:12

Probably just general be careful stuff, eh?

ADreadedSunnyDay · 09/11/2021 12:33

It was the Capital theatres website I was looking at - The Nutcracker. Even the cheaper seats weren't that much cheaper. I don't want to be tutted at for removing masks, or eating and drinking - I'd rather just wait until all the malarky's over with tbh or go to the cinema where I can buy a huge tub of popcorn

WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 13:04

Oh! It’s Swinney today 🙈

OnceUponAWhine · 09/11/2021 13:37

I also live in the same high compliance area (aka an original dirty tier 3) and can confirm the cinema was fine for viewing sans mask (I posted on another thread about everyone pretending to have drinks and I’m assuming the staff would rather keep their jobs so also pretend you’re still drinking and eating two hours into the filmGrin). It’s really fine to take a mask off in there, but you do still need to wear it for virtue signalling in the popcorn queue.

Urgh, what’s the SwinneyBot going to be saying? No doubt good news, delivered with smiles and in an upbeat manner…oh if onlySad

Scottishskifun · 09/11/2021 14:45

Well BBC is saying they are looking at extending measures (but not yet) including vaccine passport required in hospitality, more mask wearing, increasing ventilation and home working.....

The only one which actually fully reduces risk is ventilation! Home working is linked to it/reduces contact people have!

So again some things have very little basis and for a govt who was so anti vaccine passports they have done a large u turn when it's them suggesting it!!!

ecceromani · 09/11/2021 14:51

Thanks for cinema info folks.
I may risk the Bond film then, armed with a drink and 2 hrs worth of popcorn Wink

SylviasMotherSaid · 09/11/2021 14:56

Introducing the passport for coffee shops /cafes etc would be a complete nightmare it’s bad enough in our area trying to get a table anywhere at weekends then the mask rigmarole track and trace why oh why can’t we just be left to get on with it now

ecceromani · 09/11/2021 15:07

I'm failing to see how they can extend mask wearing🤷🏼‍♀️
It's already legal requirement in indoor settings, public transport.
Surely they're not going to suggest outdoors!
Or wearing masks while dancing, eating and drinkingHmm

tiredoftiers · 09/11/2021 15:31

Does your vaccine passport remain valid after a positive covid test?

ResilienceWanker · 09/11/2021 15:47

Well, considering he's the dullest man in Scotland, JS never fails to increase my blood pressure. WTAF logic is he using? Our baseline measures of masks, WFH (which I don't think has ever been formally lifted here... It's still WFH if you can?) , vaccine passports etc haven't brought down cases enough, so if we do them more, they will bring down cases Confused Compared with England where they don't have any of these measures yet have falling cases. I know they threw out logic from this ages ago... but really? How can they think they are bringing the public along with them on this??

And they keep saying they are keeping masks in schools "under review". What review is that? What measurements are they making, and when will they be sufficient to be dropped? Just saying "keeping under review" means sod all, pal.

WouldBeGood · 09/11/2021 15:55

He is a total fuckwit.

More worry for hospitality at the busiest time of year. I think it will mark the end for many if these threatened measures come in.

It’s more of the “oh, it’s not working, let’s do more if it “ bollocks

OP posts:
Scottishskifun · 09/11/2021 16:07

They shouldn't be "examining how ventilation should be improved..... It has been known since May ventilation aspects so why haven't they improved it in areas they are responsible for you know schools..... Or hospitals.....

Extend masks.... If they mean outside they can sod off or are nightclubs, weddings etc to wear masks when dancing?!

Other then ventilation it's the usual non backed up approach!
Think our plan to go to England for Christmas is going to feel like a welcome relief!

MaxNormal · 09/11/2021 16:07

Have they actually announced extending measures to all hospitality? So no vaccine, no coffee shop for instance?

OnceUponAWhine · 09/11/2021 16:07

@tiredoftiers

Does your vaccine passport remain valid after a positive covid test?
Yes, that’s just one bonkers element of the passport system.
Scottishskifun · 09/11/2021 16:09

@MaxNormal

John Swinney today

Because of this, he says he "cannot rule out strengthening the baseline protective measures" to "head off any prospect of future lockdowns".

Measures the Scottish government are considering include:

extending the Covid certification scheme (vaccine passports) to more indoor hospitality and leisure settings
seeing how ventilation can be improved
seeing how home working can be increased
and seeing whether the use of face masks can be extended.
