@WouldBeGood

This will be to force kids to get jagged.

Though I don’t believe they’ll lift restrictions anyway. Just one more lie.

I can't see it making much of a difference. Very few none of them are wearing them anyway. Grin

I did overhear a senior pupil the other day saying he wasn't getting the vaccine and the vaccine passports were just blackmail and he would not be swayed. Grin

WouldBeGood · 14/09/2021 20:30

All the kids here are wearing them

WouldBeGood · 14/09/2021 20:31

Including ds

Mistressiggi · 14/09/2021 23:01

Only a handful are exempt in my school. Why would they not be wearing them other than being exempt? I mean, they'll take them off now and then/pull them down but they are on more or less correctly 90% of the time.

Lidlfix · 15/09/2021 07:05

Where I teach we have a list of exemptions, one year group has 6 the others range from 2 -4. The office issues an update, if there's any additions, with pics as we are being used for every available cover so might not know the kids and for supply staff and student teachers.

Compliance is still really high.

TaketheCoastalPath · 15/09/2021 10:30

All wearing them at my DC’s school too. Obviously there will be ones with genuine reasons for exemptions.
Have had to resort to paper disposable ones as it’s not great for their skin. In S6 and
has also been vaccinated along with I think everyone in their friendship group.

Where are you Haudyourwheest that there is such a high rate of non compliance?

Still under the 5000 mark which I'm taking as a good sign. Numbers in our school are decreasing as well after the initial flurry - we get daily emails from the head, which are almost as exciting as your updates @dancemom Grin.

dancemom · 15/09/2021 16:24

@rookiemere hope your head teacher knows that I'm the OG 😆😆

rookiemere · 15/09/2021 17:37

@dancemom if I knew what the OG was I'd tell them for sure.

Grin My phone is telling me I have to verify my age with them before going to that website! Where are you sending me dancemom?! (And also, why is my phone parental controlling me...? )

titsintiers · 15/09/2021 20:17

Here you go @ResilienceWanker my phone didn't ID me. Even my phone thinks I'm an old bastard.

ResilienceWanker · 15/09/2021 20:30

Yo! Thanks dude... I'd actually just asked DS (10) and he said "I think it means classic or original". So he's officially more down wiv da kidz than I am. Which is fair enough, him being a kid and all.

dancemom · 15/09/2021 20:32

I actually worry about when Covid updates are no longer a thing, how will I make myself useful then??

@Mistressiggi

They pull them off. They wear them on mouth not nose, nose not mouth, over their eyes, on their chin; they break them seventeen times a day; they forget; they lose them; they ping them at each other; they use them to saw the backs of plastic chairs in half.

Thank feck they've stopped them wiping the tables down with pink spray or we'd have no time to actually teach. Grin

Haudyourwheesht · 15/09/2021 20:39

Our numbers in the school seem to be relatively low (anecdotally). Maybe dirty Glasgow has higher levels of herd immunity which is impacting the numbers.

Mistressiggi · 15/09/2021 21:12

I would love to catch someone destroying a chair with their mask string and make them bloody pay for it.

Haudyourwheesht · 15/09/2021 21:16

Me too. Watching for it has become my no. 1 focus.
Lidlfix · 15/09/2021 21:47

Have seen the end result - tried not to look impressed.

dancemom · 16/09/2021 14:19

• 26 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
• 94 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 1,054 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
Daily data on new cases, tests, ICU admissions and vaccinations will not be refreshed today due to a technical issue affecting the availability of the data. Tomorrow’s update will include figures for today.

OP posts:
BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 16/09/2021 14:30

Ooh hospital numbers down?

dancemom · 17/09/2021 15:07

• 5,529* new cases of COVID-19 reported
• 60,077* new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
â—¦ 9.9%* of these were positive
• 30 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
• 87 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 1,037 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 4,150,157 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,798,938 have received their second dose

  • The technical issues that prevented publication of yesterday’s confirmed COVID-19 cases and test positivity have now been resolved. The daily update above reflects the records processed by Public Health Scotland in the last 24 hours. Since the last update on 15 September (approximately 48 hour period) there have been 5,885 new confirmed positive cases.

I don't understand this. Are there more of yesterday's backlog still to come through then? Otherwise there are 5529 new cases for today's figure, and only 356 from yesterday (if 5885 is the combined number) which doesn't seem plausible. I sense that cases are coming back down, but these data issues make it really difficult to be sure!
